How did you spend your Bye Weekend?

Post by Art_Monk »

Good Morning everybody. HOw did you all spend your Bye Weekends? I spent most of Saturday watching NCAA and Sunday NFL. It's just not as fun when the Skins aren't playing. I did watch highlights again on Reskins.con TV from the Dallas game and that fed my Skins crave a little bit. What were you all up to?

Went to The President's Cup yesterday; stood about 2 feet away from Tiger on a few occasions, brushed shoulders with Vijay after he hit a shot into the woods, and witnessed Chris DiMarco sink a putt on the 18th hole, during the final deciding match, to win the Cup for the U.S.

Pretty sweet.

Gibbs Hog - U Dah Man! I played golf all weekend, caught some games, but watched every minute I could of the President's Cup. DiMarco's putt had everyone at the 19th hole high-fiving and chanting USA< USA!

Man, how about the shot that DiMarco his from the sand trap! Dude, that was a GREAT shot considering the stance, position of the ball and distance to the pin. I'm not sure anyone could have done any better. Jim Furyk (sp) played his tail off too. It was lots of fun on TV. Can't imagine what it was like there. Feel free to ramble a few thoughts.... I'll live it vicariously  Thanks!

Yeah, it was crazy. I actually didn't see DiMarco's position from the sand because, from where we were standing, he was just over a hill. But we saw the shot come up over the hill and watched it land on the green, and then saw him make the putt. It was awesome!

Another great part we saw was when Vijay and Couples were finishing their round at all square on the 18th - They both hit some good shots to get on the green, and Couples sank like a 30-ft. putt to win the match 1-up. Everyone was going crazy!

What was so exciting was that since it's the US v. Int'l, everyone kind of had someone to root for - one or the other. So when the US won in the last match (other than Phil & Cabrera playing on 1 in playoff mode - which didn't matter once DiMarco sank the putt), the whole crowd just erupted because we were all pulling for the same "team".

It was also cool because Tiger rarely plays in events around our area (i.e. Kemper Open; or whatever its called now), so seeing Tiger play was cool, but being next to Tiger & Jack was even sweeter. And like I said, we were face to face with the likes of Singh, Mickelson, Goosen, Gary Player, Fred Couples, etc. etc. etc.

The only thing that sucked is that my buddy called me at like 1:00 to tell me he had tickets. :( But we still got down there and saw a lot of action.

Working 7 hours at my part-time job on Saturday / picking up the Granddaughter after work and watching her all night Saturday and all day Sunday. We did however watch the Eagles / Raiders game together. That was an experience. We were saying goooo Raiders... and then when a commercial (for trucks) came on she yells "Go Trucks" and then..one for Kentucky Fried Chicken - yep...you got it...she yells "Go Chicken" !! It was fun but I was glad when she left so I could have an hour or two of my weekend for "just me".

I went to Vans Skatepark, it was sweet.

However these past 2 Sundays have really sucked, I'm so used to waking up all early and watching the Redskins, but recently I woke up to like the Raiders or some crap.
