Funnily enough, I read your post just in time to flip on a show about LT on ESPN Classic. No more than 5 minutes later did they show the play. Yes, Theisman was wearing the striped socks.

They showed the play?!!!!
I thought it was banned from TV. I hope you got it on tape. When is that show coming on again. I want to DVR it.

They showed it from a wide shot of the game so you couldn't really see anything. However, two weeks ago on ESPN they counted down the top 36 moments of Monday Night Football in its 36 year history because this is its last year on ABC or something (I think its going to ESPN or whatever but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me). On that show they showed it from multiple angles in all its gory detail. It's the first time I ever saw just how greusome it really was because I was just a little kid when it happened. I had the show recorded on my DVR but it's been erased now. Just now I went downstairs to see if I still had it and that's when I noticed that the LT thing was on. I actually found the whole thing quite disgusting so I didn't really WANT to save it and I don't feel any better off for having seen it.

If you want to see what this type of injury is like you can follow this link. There is a pic of a soccer player. WARNING - please note that the picture is quite disturbing and I don't recommend that anyone who may find this sort of thing offputting check it out:

Ha ha. Now this is the type of thread I was looking for when I found this message board. Meaningless drivel, to all but real Reskins fans. I love it. I think I'm gonna have to fly down to Annapolis and watch a game with my old friends. No, not go to the game, just hang out in someone's living room, have some chili and not be the only person yelling at the screen. Like the good old days. Aw shucks, now I'm gettin' all sentimental...

I love you guys....*sniff*

Issue resolved.

From Uni Watch...
In addition, Sunday's NFL action featured Clinton Portis wearing black shoes instead of white, his teammate Mark Brunell having the properly pluralized "Redskins" wordmark on his jersey instead of the singular "Redskin" he'd mysteriously worn in the team's first two games (sorry, no photo of Sunday's "s"-inclusive version, but trust Uni Watch, it was there)...

This week they added the "s" for "Super Bowl-Bound".
