Ramsey`s support

Post by THE RAM »

What a game, I was in the 45 yard line, row 36, those were the best seats I have ever been.

I was really impressed how Ramsey supports Brunell every single way, every time Brunell came in after going 3 and out Ramsey will just wait for him in the sideline and gave him a clap and talk to him, when both td's were scored Ramsey jumped down the field and congrats Brunell with a huge hug, I really admire Ramsey for his poisture in this situation, what a way to support the team after what happened.

Agreed, Ramsey has shown great proffesionalism and has handled this whole situtation with outstanding manner.

Now I know this is going to be Ramsey's last year here, and he probably won't get another shot at extreme playing time this year and I truly feel bad for him. He will always have my support wherever he goes.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Sure, those two plays, which I'l never forget, earned Brunell a few dozen get out of jail free cards, but let's not forget the first 56 minutes. Brunell looked anemic throughout much of his time on the field, and made a few very bad, Ramsey-like decisions. The Cowboys picked off a pass and dropped two-more.

On top of all of that, Brunell hasn't finished a season in several years, so thinking that his body at 35 will take hits better than it has in the past might be naive. He got stuck a half-dozen or so times pretty hard last night, and continued to get up, but that might not happen for any extended period of time.

Ramsey's time here might not be done just yet, so he'd better be prepared to play each and every weekend from here on out.

He needs to show he's a team guy for the off season team hunt.

Ramsey has had class all of the way, and it's not surprising to see the trend continue. Even as a backup, he's got a lot of sway as to how well the team performs (i.e. locker room presence, off field conduct, etc.), and he's doing everything possible to help us WIN.

It's being reported that if Brunell gets hurt for more than a game or two Campbell will take over. Ramsey's time as a starter is done.

abc mentioned it several times before the game. comcast also said the same thing during the pregame show. both sources said the exact same thing..... "if brunell goes out tonight(monday), ramsey will come in to finish, but if brunell will miss any significant time, they will turn to campell and start getting him ready to take over." ramsey is history. brunell is the present and campell is the future. it's written in stone. deal with it peeps.

That's a good point. IF Ramsey doesn't play for us again, other teams will quickly admire the poise he had during this whole QB situation - and that would definately help his chances.

The ones I heard were giving their opinions. Did you hear anyone with a "source" say that?

i think it was that skinny bitch, i can't remember her name.... jake's girl. anyway, she said that when she spoke to gibbs, yada, yada yada. unless she twisted gibbs' words around, i'd consider it a source.

Ramsey has always been professional. Besides, he is also on audition for his next team. He has spoke his peace about not being pleased with the situation and then left it there. Don't think that teams around the league are not paying attention to that. Especially now with the whole T.O. fiasco.

Now, on to Brunell. His performance up until those two bombs was pretty bad. So now that we found out at Midnight that he still has an arm, the questions should now be directed to the play calling. If Joe Gibbs knew that this guy's arm was still serviceable, then why didn't he take more shots down field earlier in the game? Is it Brunell playing to cautious or Joe Gibbs managing the game too conservatively?

If Patton get's healthy over the bye week, Gibbs and staff should look at doing the following:

1. Going deep once or twice a quarter to keep Seattle off balanced.

2. Run Portis wide to take advantage of his speed. Then hit em' up the middle with Betts. Portis is best suited to run outside with that speed.

3. Use Cooley underneath more and throw more screens to Portis.

4. Run 3-4 defense and cut Lavar loose to wreak havoc. He is not a Ray Lewis or Urlacher or Zach Thomas type of linebacker. He's L.T., so use him like L.T.. The linebackers and secondary are solid enough for them to do this and not give up alot of big plays. Take advantage of this guys "big play" ability and speed. He had 11 or 12 sacks when Marvin Lewis used him in that capacity....

I've seen posts from people complaining about us being negative in spite of a big win. It's not being negative, it's wanting more from our team that has so much to give. There were things that stood out on offense (more so) and defense. Let's get solid and improve on them. Let's look to get better and get back to glory....

He's a reflection of his leader, Gibbs.

On 980 last night, a caller called in and said "Brunell is better than Ramsey because...[praised Mark, trashed Ramsey]". Joe answered that both quarterbacks can/have won for this team, and both have a lot of potential.

Despite the hard feelings, on the fans' part, following Patrick's benching, I can wholeheartedly say that Gibbs respects his players, and will not trash them. Why, then, would any of his players do that to anyone else on the team? Moreover, why would Patrick do that to Mark?

There are no T.O.s on our team, thank God, but there are plenty of redeemed Skins. My 2 cents

am i supposed to believe this? given what's happened, am i really supposed to believe that joe feels that ramsey can win games for us? or is he just trying to keep the sprirts of his no. 2 (or 3) qb up in case the team needs him?

Maybe I'm naive but I really believe that Gibbs has the full support of almost if not all the players. I think that he has had a discussion/talk with Ramsey and Ramsey understands where he stands and I think he's in this for the team first and himself second.

Gibbs is a very respected leader in everything he does and he is handling this. I believe the media and sports "afficianados" all like to have these situations be as glorified as they can for their own use BUT Gibbs is not like that and he has control.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

They were all reporting the Campbell thing on ESPN as well saying the info came straight from Joe Gibbs.

These guys aren't always reliable but here's something they wrote:

League sources say the Redskins probably wouldn’t be able to get fair market value for Ramsey through a trade this season. But some question what Ramsey’s value really is. One NFL official, whose team is in the market for a quarterback, told PFW his club has no interest in the fourth-year QB’s services. “He’s a quitter,” the official said.

http://profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Wa ... efault.htm

I personally disagree with that. I think his problem is the opposite, he tries too hard and forces things.
