The greatest thing about Skins MNF win

Post by HogOnTour »

The greatest thing about Skins MNF win:
    - not the fact that it was against the cowgirls,
    - not the fact that Parcells WAS 77-0 with a 13 point lead in the fourth,
    - not the fact that we have lost NINE straight in Texas,
    - not the fact that we have lost 14 out of 15 against the cowgirls,
    - not the fact that we burnt ‘the great one’ Roy Williams, TWICE in coverage,
    - not the fact that Parcells has beat Gibbs NINE straight,
    - not the fact that we go 2-0,
    - not the fact that every announcer, pundit and any other media personality gave the Redskins no chance, especially during the game,

But the reason why the win was so sweet...

{Drum-roll}....

The cowgirls enshrined the triplets on the same night. For the rest of eternity when I look at the Dallas ring of honour, when during a game we see flash backs of the triplets, I will forever remember the night they were enshrined with a smile on my face :D. I will remember that that the cowgirls thought we would be the whipping boys and lay down on their special night (and we almost did). This is something that every cowgirls fan has to live with and every skins fan should cherish.

Please fell free to add your own reasons for celebration.

I enjoyed the cameras panning the stands...especially the banner that read something to the effect of...

"Snyder paid big money for the Redskins...but we own them"

Just a few minutes later...shocked faces and silence. 'Twas a beautiful thing...

The announcers wagged their tongues so hard praising the pies that they had nothing left to give us our just dues. Truly unprofessional...but it's what we've came to expect as a skins fan.

Sad...

It was emotional to see Joe so happy!

This game will be enshrined in Skins fans memories for ruining the ring of fame thing.

This reminds me of how special it was to win the last game at RFK versus the pukes.

HAIL!

PLUS, they thought they had the game WON - and we walked out with the win. Great comeback, maybe the greatest ever. Anyone catch a handshake between Gibbs and the Tuna?

I was looking for it, but ABC switched to the blimp shot of the half-dome.

If they did shake, I'm sure there is a picture somewhere.

I did see G. Williams and Bledsoe chatting it up.

Welcome to the board! If there is ever a deserving coach, show me! I love Joe Gibbs!

How many new people have signed to THN over the last week?

Instead of going 2-0 for the first time since 1999, spending the week in first place in the NFC East and looking forward to a two-game road trip against San Francisco and Oakland, Parcells and his staff will probably spend much of this week trying to energize their team.

A heartbreaking loss like this against a division rival can rob a team of its energy just like a 2-0 start would've created good vibes and momentum.

"These losses early in the season can carry over," Parcells said. "You have to finish it, and we didn't finish it."

Not only is this a great win for us, but it could ruin their season as well. It's win-win!

#1. Squashing the Cowboys celebration of the ring of honour:)
#2. Coming back after the Tuna used the flea flicker on us again and not allowing them to score a straight up (run or normal pass play)TD on us period!

I have a new favorite dude... Some guy on Jim Rome's show is trashing Rome for suggesting last night wasn't massive for the Redskins. He clearly isn't happy with his guest arguing.

The other guy isn't complimenting us way too much, but is insulting the Cowboys.

Really? I'll have to rewind. I walked out after his BS comments to open the show.

Haha, I love it! So many good reasons but you got it bang on the head right there!

I also thought what Madden said was really great. He says a lot of dumb things but right before the big plays he said this is where you really see how good your offense and defense is, I don't care what's happened so far, this is where the game is decided. And you know what, he was right!

Another great thing about this win - we have a bye week! Now I have two weeks to bask in the afterglow of this win. Awesome!

They shook hands. TV didn't the pressing of the flesh, because of all the crush of people aorund Parcells, and Gibbs, but there was the normal handshake between the two of them. Parcells' face had agony all over it.

The media make it out that Dallas dominated the game. Yeah sure they were in the lead for longer, but we won :D.

Look at the facts, defence dominated the game and our defence played harder. Giving up only 3 points from two turnovers inside our own territory and the only touchdown we give up was on a trick play. Meanwhile their defence could not stop an offence, which according to the media is terrible, on fourth and a mile.

But I don’t want to sound bitter, the cowgirls can have the media drooling over their defence, we will just take the victory and with it the spoils.

Also I was checking the cowgirl’s website with a big smile on my face, there is something funny about seeing the cowgirls in pain. On Tuesday they had a column headline, which said something to the effect of Redskins ruin triplet induction. This column seems to have disappeared and been replaced with Redskins Hand around With Stingy Defence. Denial can be beautiful.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome messages, this is a great site/board.
