You can't base your opinion of Brunell from 1/2 a game last week. Nor can you base it too much on last year. Brunell was not 100% last year. He also was tasked with leading an offense which was brand new. None of his teammates were playing with the confidence of a team who knows how to react to every situation. By the time they started figuring out how to better utilize Portis,

ey, the absence of Jansen etc. Ramsey was starting.
In the first preseason game this year, on Brunell's first pass, Jeff Bostic remarked, "where did that come from? Did you see the zip on that pass? He didn't throw like that all of last year!"
It was obvious from the very start that Brunell was firing the ball like he did in his days at Jacksonville. Brunell finished the 4 preseason games with an 85.8 rating vs. Ramseys 65.6. I know, Brunell played against second string. BUT he also was protected by second string O-line and threw to second string WR's so it's pretty much apples to apples.
Bottom line last week? Ramsey = 3 turnovers, 0 points. Brunell = 0 turnovers, 9 points.
Lastly, it's like Marcus Washington said two nights ago. Brunell is a better leader. When he's in the huddle he commands respect. Going into the hostile environment of Dallas on MNF, that leadership will be even more important than the QB rating.[/quote]
