no. master of puppets is what i voted for, but i feel that ride the lightning is right up there. you can't mess with songs like battery, creeping death, fade to black, MOP.... etc etc. their first few years were by far the best.

I voted "...And Justice For All"... even though Master of Puppets has the better song (Battery)... I think AJFA is a better put together album overall...
even though alot of people blame the Black Album for the fall of Metallica, I believe it was the one after that (LOAD).. at least the Black Album had some remnants of old Metallica.. and some kick ass songs... LOAD just sucked...

I voted for Kill 'Em All. Four Horsemen and Jump in the Fire used to get my blood pump'n...till they turned into pansies. Also liked the fact that Dave Mustaine was originally in Metallica. Megadeth released Mechanix off their debut album which has almost the exact same music as Four Horsemen, but is faster (Dave is a wee bit of an egoist) and has different lyrics. I think Metallica started to go downhill when they stopped putting an instrumental on the album.

My favorite Metallica song is Sanitarium. Just the angst and violence that it represents is really like therapy for us insane people. One is a great song from AJFA, and that was the last Metallica album I bought.
Since then, they have either gone mainstream or the mainstream caught up to them, not sure which.

By S&M, are you referring to the album, or....you know....

Who?
Weren't they characters on Clash of the Titans?
no, they were the guys under the pile of bears in the Great Patriot Massacre of '86 (otherwise know as superbowl xx). you probably didn't recognize them because they looked like ground beef.

Totally.

"Black" is my favorite album, but I gotta go with "Master of Puppets" as my favorite tune, if for no other reason than I put it on the car stereo when I have to pick up my 80 year old mother-in-law that I don't particularly like. All the way from her house to mine, she is treated to "Obey your MASTER!!"
Maybe one of these days my wife will learn to go get her mother herself, rather than send me off to go pick up the b... uh, well, you know what word I was thinking (especially you married men!)
