I am pointing at Jansen for his inablity to pick one -or- another Bear in time. There was one too many attackers on the right hand side of the line in that blitz.
I agree, you are always supposed to take the inside man in that situation. Let the outside guy go, and QB is suppossed to step up into the pocket and get rid of the ball. But knowing Ram, he would have gotten hit anyway, he just wouldn't have recognized it soon enough.
i watched the hit again this week. ramsey actually did sense the pressure and tried to take a couple steps up in the pocket. the problem is that's where the pressure was coming from.

God, I go away for my farkin honeymoon, and our starting QB gets sacked...in more ways than one. Oh well, from the sound of things, it seems that Ramsey didn't play too well in the three series he started.
But it seems weird to me that Gibbs would be willing to sacrifice so many games last year on the theory that Brunell could step it up, while giving Ramsey all of a quarter of one game to prove himself.
Well, I can't say that I didn't expect this possibility at some point, just not so soon. But I trust Joe's decisions, and I pray that if Brunell screws things up, Joe just might stray from his norm - and give the kid a shot.

Unfortunately for Jansen, the linebacker came on a split second delay, and Jansen had already engaged the other guy. He tried to pick him up, but he actually looked more like his tag team partner whipping him into their opponent in the turnbuckles.
