I've just been approved to start the "interview process/exams".
If you are one, what's the life like?
How hard are the exams and other tests?
How do you like it?

I'm not a fireman, but I just watched "Ladder 49", and, as long as you're not as ugly as Joaquin Phoenix, you should do really well.

I'm a volunteer firefighter in NJ so I don't think I can offer too much advice as far as a career as a paid firefighter. Just stay humble, use your head, don't do anything half-ass. Make the most of whatever practice/training you get because when you're actually in the scenario you'll either be glad you know your stuff, or you'll be wishing you put in some more time and asked more questions, and by then it's too late.
