What would you do?
I was just curious what everyone's opinion is on this scenerio. It is quite possible. I think that Brunell shouldn't be given any longer than Ramsey was given. If he does terrible the whole game what can Gibbs say. I'm not sure. I just want us to win.

I think (hope) that Joe wants to win so badly against Dallas that he'd put Ramsey back in and give the team a chance if Brunell is stinking the place up. I don't honestly see any other scenario, and the idea that he might play Campbell instead would be paramount to admitting that the season was already being tanked. Somehow I don't see Gibbs doing that.

See, I think that Gibbs should put Ramsey back in but I don't see him pulling Brunell. I heard a guy say yesterday on 980 that Gibbs probably feels obligated to Brunell. When he went down to Jvill to talk with him, they went to church together, hung out at Brunells house together, and to add to all that, Brunell took care of him when he had his issue with Diabetes. I just think that Gibbs feels like Brunell is like one of his kids.
Gibbs knows his players. Especially does he know his quarterbacks. In Gibbs-speak, he told us that Ramsey has not improved. It may well be that Ramsey does not have the skill to play QB in the NFL. "Skill" has nothing to do with a strong arm, and everything to do with making the right decisions quickly while under pressure.
We know that Brunell once had it. We haven't seen it ever from Ramsey.

Depends on what you mean by "terrible" (i.e., "Ramsey Terrible" (looks lost, sacked several times, fumbles, throws INT/s) or "'04 Brunell Terrible (noodle arm, can't complete passes).
If he isn't turning over the ball, despite not putting up gaudy numbers, Joe would keep him in, especially if the defense is shutting down the lame Cowboys offense.
At 0-0, there'd be no reason to take out Brunell, when the defense and Special teams can make a difference. Brunell, a vet, would understand this, so he wouldn't "pull a Ramsey" and just start chucking the ball to try to make something happen, out of fear of losing the job.

Why is everyone so down on Brunell.. Hey I will be the first to admit that I was not happy when we made the trade for Brunell, I thought that he was washed up, but after seeing Brunell all the preseason games and the first reg season game I think Brunell proved me wrong... The one thing Gibbs is doing is sending a message about careless, stupid mistakes.. Gibbs has talked to Ramsey many times and Ramsey isn't getting it... In 5 games Ramsey has turned it over 7 times... Whatever Gibbs choses to do, lets back him up and root for Brunell...If it doesn't work then it doesn't work, but Gibbs has earned the respect and I think we all should respect this and lets stop talking about "hey how long is Brunell going to last, 1 quarter. maybe halftime" Gibbs made the right decision and now its time to see what Brunell can actually do, now that he is healthy..

I hope you're not following that rationale, my friend. That caller was quickly shot down, and ridiculed for his position.**
**Even though it was the EXACT same position the 980 guys held LAST year.

Here's what will happen. Brunell will take every snap on Monday night and either hand off or take a knee. There will therefore be no interceptions, which will please Coach Gibbs. Unfortunately, there will also be no passing yards (unless Portis gets a chance to pass it to Sean Taylor for a touchdown, how cool would that be).

Maybe Gibbs should just suit up and play QB himself...nah, jus'kidding. It depends on the score and circumstances. If we are able to run the ball, and I think we will be able to with great effectiveness, he'll keep pounding them unto submission. If we need the passing game to "catch up" Ramsey may be the choice. Really, I don't think we are going to have this problem. We want this game more than they do and our players will not leave Texas without a win.
Hail Redskins!!!

Well said, except it was 7 times in ONE game! he only played a few quarters in preseason, so that plus last sunder is probalby less that one game! the turnovers have to stop! And the good news is that either brunell plays well and we win, or he plays terrible and we eventually get Campbell the much needed experiance.
