does everyone have amnesia and forgotten the fumble problem brunell had last year?!? the only difference being that the opposition usually returned his for points (or at least it seemed that way).

he had 3 lost fumbles last year... 2 of which I believe were QB/Center exchange... remember the whole center swithcing that went on in the first game?... that's why we got Rabach... whether the Defense score points after his fumbles is moot...

even if you threw those fumbles in, they both played in 9 games... Brunell Had 9 turnovers and was sacked 15 times.. Ramsey had 13 turnovers and was sacked 23 times..

he creates more turnovers and holds on to the ball too long so we lose field position...

they both suck... so there's no use on bitching and standing up for either one...

Thank you BTP! I am so sick of all these whining, cry baby fans who are falling into a state of depression because Ramsey is not our guy. Ramsey has been consistenly a 74-75 passer rating guy. That is just not going to cut it.

Even Eli Manning showed improvement yesterday....give it a rest. Get a six pack, eat some Buffalo Wings and support our TEAM...screw Ramsey, heck Screw Brunnell too. But GO REDSKINS...there are 11 men on the field, we just need a quarterback that will not let the other 10 down.

Last year is last year, get over it and lets see what happens NOW. All of you who keep defending turnovers clearly need to get a grip.

Turnovers kill a team...just because Ramsey can move the team in bigger chunks occassionally, does not overcome the fact that he gives the other teams too many opportunities and a shorter field.

We can't win that way. Based on last year, a lot of people said Bledsoe was over the hill, had no arm etc. No one is saying that now.

If we go out and win, I don't wanna hear you all flip flopping back on the bandwagon. Geez its embarassing.

We switched the QB. I like Ramsey and don't know if I agree with the switch, but It is only week 2, and it does not mean we need to throw in the towel, no matter who your preference at QB is. I know our team and our fans has the biggest hearts in this NFL. And my heart just won't allow me to quit. I hope you guys can say the same. The switch has been made but it's done it's over, and there's nothing we can do about it.

It's Dallas week and we need to focus in on that. These are our rivals. This is not the time to start argueing with each other about the QB. It's time to come together and think about the goal at hand. 14 out of 15. we need a win in the worst way!!!

Put all the QB talk on the back burner until after the game (the bye week)

we've got bigger fish to fry right now. A tuna to be exact.

Just in case you all missed what Gibbs had to say, there is a clip of the press conference at http://www.redskins.com/

I read about it in the post, but I am glad I got to see it on film. Gibbs looked nervous.

When do we finally get to see Scott Brunell in action? Dick Stockton described him as a crafy, mobile veteran.

Speaking of Stockton, what creature ate his hair and when is it giving it back? Yuck, note to Fox on the telecast: all shots must be eyebrows and down, eyebrows and down, repeat that mantra ... looks like a dog chewed on his scalp ... I had nightmares

Yeah, I like the CBS coverage the best but all the NFC games are on FOX.

But at least Chris Collinsworth is gone, that fool had no clue.

Regarding both Ramsey and Brunell as QBs for the Redskins
...they both suck... so there's no use on bitching and standing up for either one...

As someone once said "it is what it is.." We all need to understand that this coach will not abide anyone on the team that craetes an opportunity for the other team to win OR an attitude that is not team oriented.

Ramsey is not our guy. Ramsey has been consistenly a 74-75 passer rating guy. That is just not going to cut it.

C'mon people - its Dallas week and we have a very good defence and last Sunday the Special Teams guys picked it up - did anyone else see # 50 hit those returners? Let's support whoever is the QB and lets see if our 11 on offense can handle those pukes in dallass. I still am hoping that our offense can get it done and I think that Joe must feel that this was the right thing to do for the team - end of story!

Whoever runs out on that field this Monday gets my support. BEAT dallass!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I thought there was no personal insults on this board. Yeah I have a butt buddy okay. I am really insulted, that hurt my feelings. You actually think that I care about a insult on a message board. If I did I would have been gone long ago.

GREAT argument. Did Brunell "light their asses up?" I think not. Go back to reading and not responding.

Brunell led us to our scoring drives. Ramsey is a fumbling, int throwing QB. He always has been

So 9 points against a bad team classifies as "lighting it up?" You still didn't answer my question. Thanks for your brilliant insight though.

first of all the bears defense will finish in the top ten this year. Secondly he didnt light nothing up because we had the lead and our defense was playing good so we relied on them like we always do. All we did was pound Portis for a few first downs and eat the clock. That is Gibbs football. He keeps our team in it and relies on the defense to pull it out for us. I do believe we need to score well over 9 points to be competitive this year. If we can score 17 to 24 a game we will be in the playoffs.

Scoring those kind of points would be much easier if we could score TD's. Three tries and we get 9 points? Sorry, but that sucks. It looks an awful lot like my Buckeyes this weekend getting their butts handed to them by Texas (Congrats Longhorns!) with "playing not to lose" rather than "playing to win."

For the most part we played with the lead, and didn 't play not to lose.

The main problem for people that don't like Brunell is "he can't throw farther than 15 yards" but the fact of the matter is the redzone is a issuse. But it's only 20 yards.
The Buckeyes may have came up short but we got the "W"

I'm not really sure if the QB switch will work out as a good move or bad one. Nobody has a working crystal ball, so only time will tell.

What I do know is that whatever Gibbs undertakes, he's successful. He took the Redskins to the Super Bowl in his second season as coach. When he made the switch to racing, he won the Daytona 500. Now he's back, and the decision he made to bring Williams in to coach the defense was HUGELY successful. I suspect that he'll sort out the offense problems and find a way to win, because that's what he does, and that's his legacy. He's a winner.

Let's face it, neither Brunell nor Ramsey have stepped up and established themselves as the clear choice. So, Gibbs decided to go with a guy who is a three time pro bowler over a guy who seems awfully talented, but continues to make the same mistakes time and again, and has NEVER achieved the level of success Brunell has in the past.

Fact is, Brunell's career stats are far more comparable to Bledsoe's, while Ramsey isn't even on the chart. Brunell's completion percent is almost 60%, nine post season games of experience, and his TD to INT ratio blows Ramsey away. In fact, in Ramesy's 3 years, he's thrown 33 TD's, and 28 INT. Brunell by contrast has 151 TD's and 92 INT. Ramsey's best 1 year TD total is 14 (2003)....the other 2 years he threw 9 and 10 TD's. Brunell has exceeded Ramsey's best year exactly 8 seasons out of 11 in his career.

So if we can put out of our minds the horrible performance Brunell put in last year (though he did have a decent game last year in a close loss to Dallas, passing for 325 yds a 2 TD's)....clearly, Brunell has proven to be far more successful....by a fairly substantial margin.

Gibbs choice seems to make more sense when you look closely at the "details". However, there is no way to know if this is the right move. If Brunell bombs, then maybe both Brunell and Gibbs best days are behind them.

I'll put my money on Gibbs long before I would put it on Ramsey.
