GREAT argument. Did Brunell "light their asses up?" I think not. Go back to reading and not responding.

Ramsey and Brunell had similar stats for the game -- with one huge exception: Brunell led three scoring drives, while Ramsey led three drives that stalled with either a fumble or an interception. Gibbs has shown little tolerance for turnovers this season, something he backed up Sept. 11 by yanking Antonio Brown as the kickoff returner after Brown fumbled the opening kick of the second half

Gibbs is not a liar, he wants his people to hold on to the ball or they'll get someone who can..... period.

I believe people here are pointing out Ramsey's fault's but I still don't believe he has been given a legitimate shot. Brunell was horrible last year. This is rediculous. So here is how the season will play out. Win here, loss there defense and Portis wins some games. at 6-8 we concede defeat and put in Cambell who wins one of two games.

It is so clear it is as if it already happened. Wait is sort of did. Gibbs- I hope you know what you're doing.

It's true...Brunell did play dreadfully last season....

Maybe brunell might know the system a little better.... after getting 1 year under his belt...

Joe Gibbs and Mark Brunell

Post by redskingush »

Do you think Gibbs favours Brunell because of their first meeting when Brunell rushed him to the hospital when he got off the plane. The guys on Sporting News Radio this morning say they have a strong bond because of their strong christianity view. I think we had a better chance with Danny Wuerful than Mark Brunell, Danny is stil a free agent.

I think he must favor Brunell b/c he likes over the hill quarterbacks who can't move and can't throw the ball further than 5 yards downfield. That's the only thing I can figure.

he probably favors him because he makes less turnovers, takes less sacks, and has a better ablitiy to scramble..

which all says he's looking for a QB that doesn't "lose" games for us....

No rush here. It seems Gibbs is rushing to judgement and I have the up most respect for that man!

As much as I pimp DW on this site, I cannot put him in the same category as Mark Brunell. Brunell is a proven QB in this league. Last year he was hurt; this year he's healthy. He'll manage the team better, and get us some wins. Heck, he might even surprise the naysayers.

Plus...we're currenntly undefeated with him under center.

Bottom line, Ramsey would be a bad backup as he may poisen the locker room now. He has to go.

I saw him last night on comcast sporstnet in an interview and he says he is not seeking a trade.

I agree, it's absurd to compare Brunell to Wuerful, he was just comical.

Damn, even I had to laugh at myself for that one. Next time I should check my stat book. I will say that I think Brunell will put up better numbers this year.

Where's the comparison of the win/loss ratio? Plus, it's a moot point to compare the Spurrier offense to Gibbs'. In the OBC's system, you could, technically, throw picks, because you knew there were plays designed to score quickly and gain chunks of yards, albeit at the expense of your QB's safety and your defense's recovery time.

If the OBC were still here, I'd be pining for DW to start, because, even then, HE managed the OBC's SYSTEM better than Patrick (notice a trend here?).

Now, Brunell manages Gibbs' system better than Patrick. That is what Joe wants, and that is what he will get.

I disagree wholeheartedly that Brunell will stink this year. Just sit back and enjoy the "BRUNELL TO PATTEN" combination that we began to see in the preseason.

As someone's sig line says...

"SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN."

Keep the faith, in the team, if not in the QB.

Yes, but he can't "win" games for us either.

It is all on Portis, again. And now all they have to do is stick 8 men in the box, which will cause problems for the running game and if Brunell plays with any similarity for last year (for example, how he played against the Bears) we won't be scoring many TDs.

well we can say Ramsey can score touchdowns... but he turns it over 3 times a game two... so that negates any points he's going to give us...

it's not like Brunell is incapable of getting us points... he drove down the field 3 times against a pretty decent stubborn Bears defense... My 2 cents

Brunnel fumbles so whats the diffrence?

A turnover is a turnover.

I rather for Ramsy to throw a pick on someones 20 yard line as opposed to Brunell fumbling on our 20.

does everyone have amnesia and forgotten the fumble problem brunell had last year?!? the only difference being that the opposition usually returned his for points (or at least it seemed that way).

he had 3 lost fumbles last year... 2 of which I believe were QB/Center exchange... remember the whole center swithcing that went on in the first game?... that's why we got Rabach... whether the Defense score points after his fumbles is moot...

even if you threw those fumbles in, they both played in 9 games... Brunell Had 9 turnovers and was sacked 15 times.. Ramsey had 13 turnovers and was sacked 23 times..

he creates more turnovers and holds on to the ball too long so we lose field position...

they both suck... so there's no use on bitching and standing up for either one...
