Someone said he wanted to be traded in another thread......buh-bye. He is not the future. He and Boller should find a 2 for 1 fare. "ding", you are free to move about the country.

Stop getting hung up on last year! Brunell has looked better than ramsey THIS year.

I have no idea where you are getting this from. Brunell looked decent in the preseason against second string defenses. Yesterday he was terrible. He underthrew a receiver on his first pass attempt and underthrew Cool

ey at the goal line when he had Sean Taylor wide open in the back of the end zone. Ramsey had more yards in one quarter than Brunell did in 3 quarters. Brunell still doesn't have the arm strength to get the ball to the receivers. How long until Moss and Patten start getting upset the way that Coles and Gardner did last year when they weren't getting the ball??

Now what happens if Brunell gets hurt? We end up with Campbell as the starting QB. He is a year or three away from being ready to play!
I hope Denver enjoys the #1 draft choice next year!

Interesting thought. I was just wondering what the locker room is like today after the QB change was made official. Is this a change that the players buy into? If so, then it needed to be made. I can't help but feel like our season may spin out of control if they players don't buy it. Then again, after we beat the cryboys next monday all will be well in the redskins' land.

Oh I see. You would rather have Ramsey over throw receivers and have the passes picked off. Brunell may have lost a step, but he has proven he can win in the league. Ramsey has not. Had it not been for Gibbs playing conservatively and taking the FG, we would have gotten a TD (IMO)

Here are some facts:

-In 3 series Patrick Ramsey had 5 completions over 10 yards, and 1 over 25.

-Patrick Ramsey had 2 completions under 10 yards

-Patrick Ramsey had 1 TD (called back)

-Patrick Ramsey threw an INT on his 2nd pass attempt

-In 6 series Mark Brunell had 3 completions for over 10 yards and 0 over 25.

-Mark Brunell had 5 completions for under 10 yards.

-Mark Brunell threw an INT on his second pass attempt (called back thankfully or we might have lost)

So those are just some quick hits, you decide want type of offense you want.

I see a little of the McCant's syndrome coming into play here. Ramsey is not a Gibbs' Guy - Brunell is - he brought him here and he brought him here because that's who he wanted here. I did however see that the players "seem" to "rally around Brunell" when he's in. Go figure. Last year everyone was booing him. Who knows...it's a business.

He has proven that he used to be able to win in this league. Don't forget that this is the same Brunell that got benched in favor of a rookie in Jacksonville and the same Brunell that made our offense the laughing stock of the NFL last year.

Brunell was not asked to move the ball down the field in big chuncks.

All he had to do was hand the ball off to Portis or Betts and throw for a first down if it was 3rd and long.

Ofcourse Brunells stats aren't going to look as good.

For everyone that keeps saying Ramsey throws a lot of INTs let me give you a number. 11. That is the most numbers that Ramsey has thrown in a season. That was last year and 5 of those came in non-starts. By the way in Steve Young's and Troy Aikeman's first three years they both had a hirgher INT to TD ration than Ramsey. Aikeman's was much worse, about double.

If Ramsey's first touchdown pass was ruled correctly, a touchdown, and the blow to the head was called when he was knocked out (and thus we'd have had a first and goal at the 10, instead of another turnover) we might not be having this conversation.

A lot of people will argue that Ramsey wasn't given enough time, but this move, if it was going to be made at all, had to be made sooner rather than later. There's just no benefit to dragging it out week after week waiting to see if Ramsey can/will improve his decision making. To make this move after winning a game and having a record of 1-0 is the right time. If the Redskins started the year 2-3 or 1-4 or something like that, it would be too big of a hole to climb out of. With us at 1-0, and Ramsey showing no signs of improving his decisions in the pocket (apparently), the time to make the move is now, not later.

I think Gibbs would have made this move after the game, whether we won or lost, and whether or not Ramsey got knocked out with the injury. He was clearly pissed off at the interception, and Ramsey made serious mental mistakes. He badly overthrew receivers, and underthrew them. I'd rather have Gibbs make this move while we're still on an even keel with the rest of the division, than being in a situation of having to bring Brunell in to rescue a sinking ship. Brunell can now come in with confidence, and not feel like the weight of the world is on his shoulders to try and salvage our season.

Gibbs' patience with turnovers was the key factor in his decision. I'm a little startled by the decision, but I support it 100% and eagerly await the next few weeks.

The big question that comes now, though, is does Gibbs go to Ramsey if Brunell is ineffective, or gets injured. Or, does he pass the reigns over to Campbell. My guess is that if Brunell is ineffective, he goes to Ramsey. But, I think it's as good as done that Campbell will be the #2 man next year, and Ramsey will be with another team.

Ramsey threw 11 INT in 9 games last year... that's about half a season...

Brunell threw 6 INT in 9 games last year... that's about half as many as Ramsey in the same number of games...

your thoery is moot...

Brunell wasnt benched in J'Ville because of performance, he was benched because they just paid 20 million to a rookie QB. And what has Ramsey done to move our offense?
