Chris Cooley will go to the Pro Bowl!

Post by JPFair »

If he stays healthy, Chris Cooley will go to the Pro Bowl this year. Whoever it was that decided to trade up to get him knew what they were doing. Can you believe how solid and reliable he is? He was lining up as a Wide Receiver yesterday, and even running routes that I haven't seen him run before. He's going to become a "go to" type of person ANYWHERE on the field.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Chris has made tremendous strides as his career has started and I too see good things for him. As times goes on he will be a bigger factor in this system. I do however think he needs a new facemask. I rate his as the leagues ugliest.

while i agree that cooley is awesome, i don't think this offense will be good enough to allow hiim the numbers that he'll need to gain national recognition.

I disagree. In the redzone, he's Ramsey's clear No. 1 receiver. So long as Ramsey plays, Cooley will contiue to have an opportunity to rack up stats.

He'll have good numbers and probably push for a pro-bowl slot. It will be hard to make it though, unless the Redskins offense surprises me. Their will be a bias against your team unless the TEAM is successful. Last year, Griffin, Springs, Washington and Pierce arguably should have made the Pro-bowl.

He's also in a TE heavy division. I guarantee atleast one of these TEs makes the pro-bowl. Crumpler will probably be the starter though.
Shockey - should have a better year due to McKenzie.
Witten - had the best year last year, Bledsoe likes his TEs, but Cowboys RT may need help blocking.
LJ Smith - now featured in an offense that sent Chad Lewis to the probowl one year. McNabb's scambling benefits his TEs (and visa-versa) but Owens could take balls away from Smith.
Mark Shlereth - the best football player produced by the state of Alaska

I am an Eagles fan.

I don't think he'll get enough publicity to make the pro bowl, but I hope I'm wrong. I mean, he's an H-Back, so what does he go as -- a tight end or a running back (as he's listed on nfl.com i believe)? So, if we consider him a TE, which is obviously more what his role is, he get's less publicity than at least two other TEs just in the NFC East.

If the Skins just had a QB to get it to him.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

I think hes got a much better shot at making the pro bowl in the NFC without a doubt. Shockey's overrated, but I gotta give it to LJ Smith and Whitten.

OH yeah and dont forget to throw Algi Crumpler in that mix either.

Well, Alstott has proven that the voters get pretty creative when it comes to selecting players. If Cooley improves on his play maybe he can go as fullback....

He might very well go as a tight end. The voters themselves won't be stuck in the same predicament that Yahoo Fantasy Football finds itself in. He'll be recognized for whatever he does.

Considering that the Redskins probably won't be going 11-5 this year, though, I doubt that he'll make it (despite a great individual performance). Remember, our defense was the BEST defense in the NFC. . .and we got only one player from our starters to actually go. (It still disgusts me).

Going by Witten logic, he should be listed as TE.

Witten has been playing a lot of H-Back since his rookie year. Big reason why Parcells almost didn't carry a fullback.

Last years pro-bowl voting had him lumped in at Full Back.

Too bad he got an ankle hurt against Arizona...

Cooley was called on a penalty that killed his TD. Did you see anything wrong in that play? I did not see the penalty but I may be biased.
