Where was Arrington, Salvea, left linebackers in general
Did anyone spot Arrington running around out there? He registered 1 tackle, so he must have been there. Seriously, does anyone know what was going on with him?
Marshall looked like the new Pierce, Washington like the great player he is...but what the heck was going on at the other linebacker slot. Somebody explain. I thought we had it covered.
I'm also a little worried nobody really shut down that old man they kept throwing to and the little dink passes for those annoying first downs. Can somebody explain such phenomena to me.
Where was Carlos. Will he make it all better?
Also, why wasn't there any production from our Defensive right tackle. I know the Noble story but what was the rest of it.
I think we have a great need for our disignated rusher to get healthy. The rush looked a bit like crap with him not jumping in there. What's the prospect of his return by next week.
What's the story behing the Holdman fizz?
I would appreciate any and all responses, answers, etc. to the above. The media is leaving me starved for info.

He assisted on two plays, according to official records (unless I'm mistaken). The way I have it is this: Arrington--one tackle, Holdman-- two assists, Campbell--one tackle. Together, Washington and Marshall contributed 15 tackles and one assist.

Does anyone know how many plays Arrington got in the game?
You see my point? I was worried about Marshall, not Arrington and Holdman. Now I'm worried about those two guys. It is absolutely essential all of our linebackers have great seasons.

Arrington wasn't in alot.. but he did well... I know on one of our sacks he was the one who disrupted the QB intially, then someone else sacked him....
Arringtons fine... you gotta remember, he played all of 2 or 3 games last year, and not a ton of preseason until the last two weeks.... the guy still needs a little time to get back into it... no use in throwing him off the ship just yet...

Whining about the play of the DTs and LBs when the Bears had 41 yards rushing.
Priceless.
Yeah... they sucked. Just ask Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson.
To sing the praise of the MIC when the DTs are the guys keeping people off the MIC and allowing Marshall to make tackles seems 'uninformed' to me.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

The coaches were pretty clear leading up to the game that Arrington will be slowly broken in so that's why he saw limited action. Despite his stats, when he was in the game he was disruptive - stats don't tell the whole story.
...and, I agree with Boss. We held them to 166 yards total and 41 yards rushing. What more do you want?

The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

:hmm: Maybe it's still me trying to shake my anti-Lavar sentiments form years past, but it seemed that whenever the play-by-play callers said "lavar's in the game", our defense gave up some big plays. Other than the series with the string of false starts and illegal procedures, Lavar's play was just okay. I couldn't help but cring as I saw him flying around out there. I didn't want to see him reinjure the knee on action AFTER the play was dead.

I did notice that he disrupted the QB on Orton's fumble, but as a "superstar" he needs to finish that play on his own. He overplayed a guaranteed sack on that one. He's still working off the rust, IMO, and if he can fall in line, he'll be great in this defense.
I'll give him this much: he's a great cheerleader. He knows how to work the crowd into the game. The fans love him, and it helps to put him on the big screen to get the crowd goin'.
Hopefully we get better play as the season wears on.
If we get goin' on a roll... this defense (Lavar included) will be downright nasty!!!!

Back and better than ever!

Arrington wasn't even around Orton when he fumbled.... I don't even know if he was on the field...

I may have confused the play, but he did WHIFF on a guaranteed SACK.
Marcus Washington would have gotten it... :-"
Heck...SHAWN SPRINGS would have finished the play.
Has Lavar contracted Smoot-itis (Crowd favorite, so-so tackler)???

I'm not going to get into it with you about your whole anti-lavar thing again...
...just sharing that for someone who has his eyes on lavar's every move... you didn't know what you were talking about...

Trying to be as non biased as I can here...
From my seat it was clear the fans (as you expected) just went buck everytime he came in. On those few plays I remember the D waking up and playing with a little more intensity (even if they did give up a play they hit like men).
Seems to me Lavar is still a lifeline for our D. I could have gotten caught up in the moment but I think he sparked some serious tail whoopin out there.

I saw some very good defence and whoever was part of that did a very good job. This is still a team game and this group looked like they are going to be very effective against the run and IMO they will all play better as the season gets into a few games.
I'm sure the offensive coaches in d are going to have an interesting week trying to come up with anything that has a chance against that group.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Indeed. Like I said:

I suggest we remove the "Make Noise!" sign, and just replay scenes of Lavar hyping up the crowd, even when he's not on the field. The man gets the crowd goin' like no one else.

LaVar did get the place fired up and he was in the series when the Bears repeatedly false started. Arrington did blitz on the play Orton fumbled, but he was being half way blocked. LaVar also only got a small piece of Orton on the play Evans got a sack.
