Gibbs bragging up Brunnel in post game..

Post by 1fan4ramsey »

Sounds like Brunell will start next week. Gibbs bringing up stuff from last years Giants game? saying he was impressed with Brunnell coming back so quickly?? Gibbs was just waiting for his chance to put Brunell in. Unfortunately he probably lost Ramsey in the process. We're done with Brunell at the helm, and Gibbs ruined Ramsey mentally from this point on, get used to losing.

I agree 100%. Brunell will never lead this team very far. HE CAN'T EVEN THROW IT TO WIDE RECEIVERS!

The only way Ramsey will not start next weeks game, is if there is something wrong with his neck or head.Gibbs wants to keep the whole team healthy and that includes Ramsey.Gibbs will start Ramsey next weak if he is 100% o.k.

gibbs kept playing brunell last year when he was injured... will ramsey get the same treatment? i feel like ramsey played well after the initial jitters/INT. well enough to not have lost his job already at least.

Did you here is press conference? He said Brunell looked smoother, even though he knew Ramsey was o.k. to play. Gibbs said he'll decide at the end of the week who will start. Ramsey took way more vicious hits under Spurrier. We did not need a QB controversy this early in the season, certainly not one started by the head coach!!!

So its come to this........blame Joe Gibbs. Tell me, how many points did Ram-so lead this team to? How many turnovers did he have vs. Brunell? Hmmmmmmmm???????? Tell me.

Give him the chance he deserves. Gibbs is still trying to convince everyone his off season move from 2 years ago (to get Brunell) was a good one.

I think we have two good q.b's but what is bothering me is how good will brunnel be in the redzone. If gibbs wants to put brunnel back in and we end up headed for another 6-10 season then every skin fan will be mad. Can you say "upset".I think it would be very unfair to Ramsey and the fans after Gibbs has named Ramsey the starter and Ramsey not even playing a full half of a game.Gibbs should be smarter than that. All I'm saying is give ramsey two more games to prove himself.Brunnel has already had his chance last year. Give Ramsey the same.

yall are funny, we won the game. Brunell does look smoother and he makes better decisions. Ramsey has to stop throwing interceptions plain and simple.

Some foundational assumptions:

1. Joe Gibbs is the smartest football coach in the last 25 years.

2. Gibbs will make "mistakes", such as calling a play that doesn't work, but that's just football.

3. Gibbs does not make team decisions based on what makes himself look good. Brunell? It's not an ego thing with Joe Gibbs. He doesn't care.

4. See # 1.

Brunell can't stretch the field as Ramsey can, opposing have to respect Ramsey's arm. We will become one dimensional with Brunell, just like last year!! History will repeat itself!!

These strickly Ramsey fans are killing me. Did we score any points with Ramsey in? As long as we win I don't care. Get off Ramsey. He throws ints. and can't handle the blitz.

But Boonell threw some very Wuerffel-like passes. I've seen clouds move through the air with more velocity. One of his first passes was an INT...he was fortunate due to the PI call. Defenses by now have learned of Boonell's lack of arm strength and crowd closer to the line. That potentially detracts from our running game.

Ramsey has the arm strength to zip the ball down the field, or into tight coverage. He has the toughness to endure a lot of knock-downs and sacks. When he's on, he's on. When he's off...we lose.

Boonell on the other hand this game made intelligent football decisions. He didn't force the ball when there was nothing...and either scrambled or tossed it out of bounds. His ball has had more zip on it than last season...which was reportedly due to a hamstring injury. He looked better than Patrick in the preseason.

Patrick on the other hand has developed some pocket shell shock syndrome <<PSSS>> His happy feet and frozen lock-on with one receiver is keeping him from finding his check-down receivers, and contributing to bad decisions. He also has a tendancy to force a play, instead of making smart football decisions.

So, with this said...I'm officially on the fence. I'll refrain from making a decision on my preference at this point and support Joe Gibbs decisions. I will say that I was DISGUSTED at the boo-birds who appeared I think on the first series. Give me a break. Shame on them.

I have had some time to think about this since the game and I must say the q.b. situation makes want to :puke:The bears game was nothing but a big stink. You have Ramsey and Brunnel and both have there flaws.Ramsey should stay the starter for now and thats the bottom line.Gibbs in the post game review was upset about the ref's blowing calls.Ramsey should not have taken that kind of shot to the head. The cooley call was bad should have been a t.d.Ramsey started the drive deep in enemey territory and made some key third down conversions.Gibbs talked about that in the review.Gibbs also praised Brunnel.I have to say that this is not the way I wanted to start the season.I hope Ramsey can get another two games to prove his self. One should stay the starter until he proves that he is not.

Face it, folks. With Brunell, we have our Trent Dilfer. He won't light up the scoreboard but, unlike last year, I don't expect him to make a lot of the stupid mistakes/throws that Ramsey would make. Brunell is healthier this year (and it bugs the crap out of me that he, obviously, wasn't truthful about his health status last year) and is playing better/smarter.

Gibbs will want a QB at the helm that makes less mistakes. Ramsey may have the better arm and even, arguably, better talent than Brunell.....but Brunell will make less mistakes at the helm than Ramsey.

And THAT, ultimately, will be the reason Brunell takes the job away from Ramsey...if he does.

Boonell stinks plain and simple.

Obvious to me Coach Gibbs doesn't like Ramsey.

Hopefully Coach Gibbs will get his head out of NASCAR
and see that the best the Skins will do with Boonell is 8-8.

I don't see the point in starting Brunell. In my mind, by doing that you are pretty much conceding that this is going to be a 6-10 or 7-9 season. If that's the case then why not put Campbell in the lineup and start getting him ready for next year. Starting Brunell is nothing other than a waste of everybody's time.

Brunell threw a pick too, and if it would have gone through, we probably would have lost the game.

But jeez, how can you guys think Boonell is good? He played 3 quarters, and got 70 yards!! He is terrible. We will not win with him

But if thats your reasoning, whats the point of starting Ramsey. I don't think that he is going to be here after this season.

I say start who ever gives us the best chance to win. I feel that Brunell gives us the best chance because he will not make mistakes.

But I will support who ever the Redskins decide the go with.

Gibbs doesn't mess with Nascar anymore. If you read any of the articles you would know he has no Idea what is going on in Nascar right now. We won the game people. Why are we fighting over Brunell and Ramsey? Neither will be the QB in a year or two. Brunell well play fine if he starts. Ramsey will have his good throws but never will he have a good game against a good team. I'm sick of the Ramsey excuses. If it's not he's not getting a fair shot it's Gibbs doesn't like him. This stuff is rediculous. The bottomline is he makes to many mistakes. He's just not a QB. But as long as we win I don't care who is the QB. I trust Gibbs's decisions so should every other Redskins fan. He wants nothing more than the best for his team and fans.

To convince oneself that Brunell is not mistake prone is to perform some kind of psychic surgery on one's own frontal lobes, erasing not only all of 2004 but also the Bear's game, 2005, wherein Brunell was saved from costing his team the game by an PI call and also threw to the dirt of the one year line on 3rd and goal when an open receiver was prancing in the end zone.
