Mortensen....sleeper pick...

Post by spudstr04 »

Chris Mortensen, this morning on the Pulse on Espn Sportsnation said this...

"As we've gotten closer to the openers, I now list the Redskins as one of my potential sleepers."

How bout this one fellas....all pre-season i have heard the people on ESPN bash the Skins and say they were going to finsih 5-11, but now someone has the balls to come forward and actually like the skins.....yea!!

y'know, sometimes i get the feeling that these guys pick a different 'sleeper' every week leading up to the start of the season. that way, when some random team breaks out of a losing pattern (i.e. the chargers), they can look back and say 'see? i told you so', completely forgetting about the other 20 teams they picked as sleepers. it's almost like the weatherman saying 'look for rain or snow, clouds or sun, warm or cold temperatures today'. they're just trying to cover their butts.

Exactly. All of those guys on ESPN claim to be "experts." It makes me sick. Last year half of them picked either the Seahawks or the Panthers to win the Super Bowl . But they never seem to talk about that.

Mort has always had a soft spot for the 'Skins. He's one of the few sports people that does.

I've noticed that too...and agree. Maybe that's why I like him. :)
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

Yeah, but his hair comes no where near Mel Kipers mop

And I too really like Chris Mortensen, he just always sound reliable and whenever he says something, I actually believe... unlike most ESPN reporters.
