Sean Taylor

Post by Gibbs4Life »

Is now officially my favorite Redskin. I loved the interview where some geek reporter asked him "Uh, how do you feel about reading all these magazines that have you guys finishing like fourth in the division" Then Mr. Taylor just gives him this look and says "I don't read magazines, so I wouldn't know, all I know is we'll be there sunday." Oh and the first thing that he said was WE'LL SEE'EM AT FEDEX. The man is ready and I'm sure glad we have an intimidator back there like Sean.

Taylor rejected a plea today that would have involved some jail time and the trial got pushed back to late October. But the lawyer still expects the trial to be postponed again till after the season. On the Post site today.

I saw the interview, too, and it got me fired up. Sean Taylor has got to be one of the most intimidating players in the league.

"Name and town, name and town" - someone, please pass on info. to Mr Taylor!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Regardless of what he's done off the field he'll be such a monster on it this year that this will be forgiven and forgotten with a slap on the wrist.

Of course in the end I don't care what he did as long as he gives McNabb a mouthful of dirt this year.

The thing I like about Sean Taylor is that he never mentions God in any of his comments to the media. I am not sure if he is religous or not, but you'd expect most NFL players in his situation to say something like "I am just putting my faith in God that everything will work out" blah blah blah. Sean seems like a highly intelligent guy -- albeit having done some really stupid stuff recently -- and doesn't give what I would regard as lazy answers when he actually talks to the media. I like him and I hope he is around DC for a long, long time ...

You cant just say that though. What he did off the field could directly impact whether or not he even gets on the field after the court hearing.

We already know he'll be on the field for at least a few games. My point is if he excels (which he will) and is getting mad exposure it will prob lessen the likelihood that he does any time at all.

Not to mention the connects he has (Snyder, Gibbs, daddy chief of police in FL).

The prosecutor did not object to the delay which pushes his date back to when his co-defendant is scheduled. They will have the date moved to sometime after the season next month and again prosecutors won't object.

I can't believe you'd say your "favorite" thing about Sean Taylor is the fact that he doesn't mention God. Sometimes I wonder about this board...there are alot of little demonic things like Skins666 and all this other BS, I say the MODS need to reel it in a bit, DO NOT MESS WITH THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE...i.e. new orleans.

Ok this is for a different place but N.O was not struck down for not listening to God. Come on people. lol

And you need to check the head Mod's name! ;-)

As an obviously religous person, I take it you enjoy when wide receivers thank god for allowing them to catch the ball or when musicians thank god for letting them win a grammy. As if God cares about such things. That's really all i was saying ... no need to be so literal and dare I say dogmatic.

And you should probably work on your grammar, my man. Your last sentence above basically means that New Orleans is the creator of the universe ...

By the way, I didn't even say that for the record. Another FYI as far as grammar: when you put something in quotations make sure the person you are quoting actually used the word.

saying that "God" allowed you to catch your pass or make a great play is not humble, it is megalomaniacal. you are boasting that God favors you over the other team, over the other players. you are boasting that God is rooting for you and your team. any benevolant, omnipotent being would not care about football. it is a game.

"God favors me" is the same kind of arrogance that leads to all kinds of discrimination and war.

as for New Orleans, there is nothing supernatural about what happened. as with just about everything else in the world, what happened follows the rules of logic. when you build a city below sea level, right next to major bodies of water, with no major drainage outlets, in a location that is in the potential path of dozens of hurricanes every year, that is a "recipe for disaster". especially when you ask for more government support to fortify the man-made barriers that protect the city, but are ignored. or maybe you are suggesting that George Bush was doing the work of God by allowing New Orleans to be destroyed?
