I am so glad Norv is no longer our coach!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

I'm watching the Raiders-Patriots game, and this thought keeps coming into my head every time they flash his ugly mug up on the screen. And in HD too. :puke:

Why is he still a head coach?

Because Al Davis loves to hire old guys who are washed up and used to have amazing credentials. Whether it's coaches, players... he doesn't discriminate.

i thought perhaps the second time around for norv would be different, ala bill belli in new england. alas, i noticed norv still had that same 'wtf is going on?!??' look on his face that i had grown accustomed to seeing in the 90's.

That and the post game interview was familiar.

The man uses "awful" as a positive adjective and/or adverb, I think that speaks volumes about him

It did bring back flashbacks. He is an aweful coach, third and long at the two minute warning, he runs the ball to punt it away. Hello, you have randy moss, why not toss a bomb, if he catches it, you score, if its intercepted its a punt, and if its incomplete you are no worse off then a two yard pickup.

He did this again as the half closed down, the patriots got a penalty and suddenly he choses to start going for it. He seems very resign to the fact that his team sucks. Not a good coach at all.

Couldn't agree more with all that has been said. The guys an idiot and lost that game last night with his play calling. The running game was working and ball control and keeping the ball out of Brady's hands would have made all the difference.

Turner's tenure here was the worst time for me as a die-hard fan - and he was a puke no less.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

It has been more than ten years, but I thought the same thing.

- gee, that looks like the Dallas offense in Redskin uniforms

- so...Shuler = Aikman, and Westbrook = Irvin, and...

- and I thought, at least he could have kep Larry Peccatiello and the rest of the defensive coaches. Instead, he hired that guy from the Bengals who decided to remake the Petibon defense. As Petibon said then, it's like trading a Mercedes for a Ford Escort.

I was watching a replay of NFL Prime Time and they were talking about the Raiders.TJ was saying that they are the best of the 0-3 teams. It sounded so familiar. Loads of talent... can't win games.
