What do you think of my draft?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

What do you think of my draft?

Post by hkHog »

I just finished my fantasy draft and I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions. I think I did alright but it was a bit tricky because there were 16 teams and I only got the 10th pick, but here's who I got:

HK's Hogs
1. C. Portis Was - RB
2. M. Harrison Ind - WR
3. B. Westbrook Phi - RB
4. M. Hasselbeck Sea - QB
5. L. Fitzgerald Ari - WR
6. E. Kennison KC - WR
7. K. Warner Ari - QB
8. C. Cooley Was - TE
9. Washington - DEF
10. J. Brown Sea - K
11. D. Blaylock NYJ - RB
12. D. Patten Was - WR
13. I. Mili Sea - TE
14. A. Bryant Cle - WR
15. Denver - DEF

As you can see, quite homerish but I think I obviously picked the best starting 'Skins in Portis, Cooley, and the D. I don't even think I reached for these guys either, they all just fell into my lap. I hope the 'Skins play well! I think Patten was a nice pick-up as a backup WR, too. I also have no two guys at any one position who have the same bye week which is great. Three times I had to really scramble though because the guy before me took my pick. Also, I didn't really want Hasselbeck but the QBs went off the board very quickly and I had to grab someone. Maybe Warner will really step it up and I can make some trade or whatever. Also, I only picked Mili because I remembered how Seattle kept burning Dallas with its TEs. I don't really know much about him but he was ranked pretty high on all the resources I was looking at when I was trying to make that pick. I'm happy with my starting recievers and RBs though.

Here's IMO the best draft though. The first few picks were really good:

DefendingChampion
1. (4) P. Holmes
2. (29) T. Green
3. (36) A. Gates
4. (61) D. Foster
5. (68) E. Moulds
6. (93) T. Houshmandzadeh
7. (100) D. Akers
8. (125) J. Galloway
9. (132) Cincinnati
10. (157) J. Harrington
11. (164) N. Kaeding
12. (189) M. Campbell
13. (196) D. Nash
14. (221) D. White
15. (228) S. McDonald

Any suggestions or comments.

Stevens is the TE from Sea. that you want.

Who did you pick at #10 or did you trade that player?

Yeah, I know about that. I read that they split time and use a lot of two TE sets though so I guess it's an alright pick. Also, I'm happy to start Cooley most of the time.

Hasselbeck... Warner never plays good against the Gnats...

Pretty nice team for being in a 16 team league...

Thanks guys. Just looking at my plans at backup TE. Do you guys think George Wrightster from Jacksonville would be better than Mili? I don't really know anything about him though. Actually, in week 3 Jacksonville is playing the Jets and Seattle is playing AZ so maybe Mili is the better choice. Another guy I'm wondering about is Heath Miller. Nobody's picked him up yet! He might be a good pick but then again Roethlesburger doesn't look real good right now. However, Deuce and Bettis will be back then. But they're also playing NE in week 3. I dunno, I think he might be a really good pick-up even though his [projected numbers are extremely low in my league. What's more, he's a starter unlike the other two guys I listed.

edit: now that I look around there are a lot of contradicting depth charts out there. Miller is listed anywhere from the starter to the 3rd string TE.

Not bad at all hkHog. I am in a 12 team league and we just drafted. my team is as followed:

QB: Vick
QB: C. Palmer
RB: S. Jackson
RB: J. Jones
RB: Duckett
RB: Bell
RB: Pittman
WR: Harrison
WR: S. Smith
WR: Boldin
WR: Stallworth
WR: K. Curtis
TE: Heap
K: Longwell
DT: Indianapolis
DT: Cincinnati

Not sure yet who to start at QB for week #1. Leaning towards Palmer. Anyone else have Palmer and starting him this week?

The thing about fantasy TE's is that, unless you get one of the top TE's that are consistent every week with points... all the other TE are crap shoots... and most of the time... they don't get you many points anyways...

you're best bet is to find someone who plays on a high powered offense and just sticking with him the whole year... and keeping an eye out for the next Antonio Gates... if there even is one...

It's pretty funny because on Thursday I dropped Mili and picked up Willy Parker to use as trade bait. Nobody bit and he ended up being absolutely incredible! I didn't start him but I still didn't need to after some great performances from my guys. Glad to have him in reserve.

Haha! Yeah, I just checked it, Parker has the most fantasy points of anyone in my league. Fitzgerald certainly made me happy too!

I was so pissed when I got home and saw how well Parker did. I cut T.J. Duckett to sign him and I traded him to someone for Kevin Jones. I thought I was a genius.
