I concur -- pass.

Seems as though they're doing a better job on keeping "those types" off the roster since JJG took over.

Teams generally do not use a franchise tag on "fat underachivers".

Simon would be way to expensive to sign. If we could get him it would be a good thing.

That's why they removed the tag.

Seriously, he's very talented, but not motivated at all. He showed up fat and out of shape after a hold out last year, and it took him a bunch of games to get in shape. He was probably going to do the same this year.

He is a talented underachiever. He'll get paid; he still was their best DT. When Hollis Thomas elbow acts up again, they'll wish they just paid him the 5 mil. But just cause he's good doesn't mean 1) he's playing up to his potential or 2) he should be a Redskin with a large signing bonus.

I'm pretty sure the Giants are going to make a pretty strong run at him. For me, ex-Eagle D personnel are out.

I have a feeling we will dominate this year with a blue collar team...we have Arrington, Washington, Taylor, and C-Griffin...we have clear leaders at each line of defense.

We don't need any outside "stars" we have the perfect mix already on D.

We have it on Offense too, all we need is to minimize our mistakes and there is no telling how far into 2006 we can play.

I agree that we will be successful with our current roster. Im very thankful that we're creating our own superstars instead of getting exsuperstars from other teams.

Howver if we can get someone at any position that can be an upgrade to our team aside from just on the field then Im all for it.

Get Corey Simon

Post by Gibbs4Life »

Couldn't Cerrato Gibbs and Co. put an offer on the table for Mr. Simon that is light in terms of its first year cap hit then deal with it next season? From what I understand the signing bonus does not count against the cap so the Danny should be able to woo Simon's camp our way just buy being able to give the biggest bonus. As far as debating whether or not this guy would fit in...we all know Greg Williams would make this guy a trained killer or at least be able to see if he can help us. I SAY GET COREY SIMON...He'll come in handy week 2 (I want the most smashmouth redskins to get off that plane in Dallas as is possible.) To be clear I don't fear dallas I am just sick of losing to them and last years vinny testaverde debacle was almost too much.

Gibbs said the Redskins have discussed the possibility of signing star defensive end Corey Simon, who was released of his franchise tag by Philadelphia on Sunday, but did not expect to contend seriously for his services because of salary cap concerns. Washington is about $2.15 million under the cap, league sources said.

He's a DT.

Bring the guy in. Make a bid. If we lose the bid, no harm done.

What's the latest on Price? Is our interest in him just a rumor?

I've heard rumours on other sport forums that Indy has him.

Do the Skins have any thoughts on looking at Peerless Price at WR? Why not cut Dyson (limited upside) and pick up Price (assuming the $ isn't out of hand)? Justa thought...

The team has already come out and said they weren't interested, of course they also said they didn't trade all of those picks to select Jason Campbell at 25 either.

I'm sorry, but what does this have to do with Corey Simon?

We should all try and be cognisant of what we are posting!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I cna't understand all to hype over Simon. He wasn't even starting in Philly by the end of the season, because he doesn't play the run well. Yes he can get after the QB, but he also played undisciplined football.

He'll fit right in in Indy. Soft against the run but capableof getting after the QB.

By the way Philly was trying to trade him all off season and finally had to just cut him. So we got more for Gardner than they did for Simon.

SkinsJock makes a valid point. I was just answering the question posed by Buzz Dog and commented on by JansenFan (Staff).
