This guy really impressed during the off-season, but has done nothing to warrant a spot on our roster, we have numerous kick returners. He has been horrible at WR I see no reason to give this guy a spot on the roster to just return kicks.

With all due respect, I completely disagree. I think he has earned a roster spot as a WR. He has made some great catches and has been a nice surprise.

Man...did you see the game tonight? I dont have the greatest of memories but I can't really remeber a significant amount of catches during preseason games from him. He definately looked good at camp. That cat dropped a TD that would have won us the game and 2 others.

Catches...really?? He has played so bad at WR you can't even call him 50/50

No, unfortunately the game was not televised here. I seem to recall some nice catches made in the Pittsburgh game. Maybe I am mistaken, but I think he makes the team

A.Brown was pretty much INKED IN on the 53 man roster.

But after his 4 drop performance on the field combined with the kick returns that Rich Parson produced the ink has started to fade.

That Farris guy had a big night last night, and Brown's roster spot may have been RUBBED OUT

If thats the case and what you say is true then those 2 games dont even cancel each other out. He performed horribly today.

DE, Chad and I discussed during the game if hes worth keeping JUST to return kicks.

Releasing McCants is looking more and more like a mistake.

I just don't see the justification for keeping a guy who "only" returns kicks. He made one catch that Brunell liad right in his hands and hasn't caught anything since.

Not going to second guess D-Mac's but we have other young WR that play teams and I won't be as surprised if he is cut this weekend as I was when McCants was among the 1st cuts

...even I was skeptical of him all last night... but anyone can have a bad night... he definitely still needs to earn his stripes at wideout... but I'd keep him... the boys got a motor, and we haven't had a decent KR since Brian Mitchell left...

Yeah, we'll certainly miss the FIVE balls McCants caught All of last season. I don't care what potential the guy had, he was a FIVE catch receiver under Gibbs. Why keep a guy the coach is almost never going to play!

My sentiments exactly. I thought Brown played pretty solid in the other preseason games, and had a twitchy night last night.

But I also agree with 1niksider; Farris was puttin' on a mini clinic last night when he came in. I don't know if that was an anomally, or if the guy is really that consistent in making catches, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of him - if only there were another preseason game...

I don't think it was just a bad night for Brown. He dropped two wide open passes last week against Pittsburgh. I still can't get over his fumble against Dallas last year. I am not a big fan of Brown as a WR.

Everyone doesnt need to have an afterburner strapped to their butts, if they man can catch they we need to keep him.

How do you all fell about Parish and his return abilities? He really looked good to me. He seemed to dance a bit less than Brown and went vertical.

I like Brown a lot tho, but I dont kno if hes gon be around.

Speed is good ... but catching is better. If you don't catch it in the first place, then the speed after the non-catch doesn't matter.

I think he was having an off day/night. I think the coaches were trying to get him some success to build up his confidence ... which must be very low today.

During his return duties it seems that he has more horizontal return yards that vertical yards.

I like him but am not sold on him. It'll be interesting to see if he makes the final roster. I don't think he is eligible for the pratice squad - is he?

I think you mean Rich Parson...
That's my question too.

Both Parson and Farris return kicks and
Parson tried to make a statement last night, along with what Farris did and Brown not doing did one of these guy pass Brown on the depth chart.

Gibbs had been high on Brown all off-season

Well, I just wish we had one more preseason game, to see how he bounces back.

Since he's still young, he may either lose tons of confidence, and be terrible the whole year. Or this can make him work his butt off and he will be bettter out of it.

Now I didn't see the game, and even though I heard he was terrible, I still want him to make it because really, during the regular season he probably won't play WR anyway.

He'll be last on the Depth Chart behind Moss, Patten, Thrash, Jacobs, Dyson THEN Antonio. I mean this is like saying we never should have kept Chad Morton because he was a bad RB.

So I say keep him!

It was hard to determine exactly how well our returners played last night, what with ALL THE PENALTIES ON EVERY KICK. :explode:

Both guys looked pretty good to me, but we really need to work on those blocks in the back ad holding penalties - we should have been dominating the field position battle, but we just kept killing ouselves.

Back to A. Brown, that TD catch that he dropped - I think he was suprised; none of our QBs had put one in the perfect spot until then....IMO, he was expecting an underthrown/overthrown ball...

Cut him some slack...he got a case of the yips...anyone that's ever had trouble putting knows what I'm talking about. In High School, I started the first 6 games of the year at Shortstop and did not make a single error. Then, in one game, I had five -- IN ONE INNING! I kid you not...I wish I was kidding. Anyway...the rest of the year went pretty much like the first of the year...the 5 error inning was an anomaly....it happens. If it becomes more consistent (or, more appropriately, if that ever happens again)...then we'll have to look elsewhere.

Bottom Line: Antonio Brown not only makes the team, but he will have an impact year for the Redskins.

If he is going to be a good punt returner and Kick returner I would. Remember Brian Mitchell, that is the only reason he made the team.

Brown had a bad night. I think he tried entirely too hard to make something happen, even on kick returns. I think he was buying too much into his own hype, and last night should have humbled him some.

I say we keep him. If Joe sees something in him that DMAC lacked, I'm all for waiting on this cat to develop.

Why take up a roster spot for that, when we have other returners on the team.
