Raising a tiny glass to the Raiders

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Raising a tiny glass to the Raiders

Post by BadgerKing »

One of my oldest football buddies died last week; suddenly and totally unexpectantly. Back in 1981 when I decided to be a Skins fan, Bruce decided to root for the Raiders. Despite this disparity of choice we remained the closest of buddies and loved to get together to talk football and gently rag on each others teams!

So for this season and this season only I am raising a tiny glass to the Raiders and hope that they win their division and get as far as they can (Obviously not as far as the Skins!)

I know this is a strange post but I just wanted to share.

I am truly sorry for your loss. And I may even be willing to cheer your buddy's Raiders along - that is, until Nov. 20...

I'll be rooting for LaMont Jordan, so I'll hold up a small glass half full with ya.

Here's to your friend, how ironic the Skins play the Raiders Nov 20th. My pop-warner team is the Raiders and wear the silver and black

Me, too.

He's a former Terp (and he's on my fantasy along with Randy Moss and Jerry Porter).

I was playing a pick-up game with my dorm buddies in about 12" of snow on the mall one day, and Jordan was walking past us. We yelled over to him and he came and played for about 45 min. or so....luckily he was on my team  , but it sure was fun watching him just carry (literally) about 4 or 5 people through a foot of snow to score a touchdown for us!
