If you could be.......

Post by Justice Hog »

I am starting this thread to get an idea of what profession people would "like" to be...other than the one they're presently doing. So let's try this. First, tell us what you do for a living. Then tell us what other job you would like to do...if you weren't doing the job you're presently doing and why. I'll start:

Current job: Deputy Attorney General (criminal prosecutor)

Job I'd Like to Do: High School Teacher or College Professor

Why: I've instructed/taught people in my career and I really liked doing it. I also think I have a good personality interacting with people so I think I would make a very good teacher.

Current Job: Manager of Construction Services/CAD Technician/Office Manager/Secretary...it's a small office.

Dream Job: Professional Golfer

or

Head Coach/Owner/Assistant/Secretary/whatever for the Washington Redskins!!!

Why a professional golfer? Because you get to see the world, you can make a lot of loot, and you get to play golf EVERY DAY - one of my favorite activites; but I only get out once or twice a week.

Why a coach/owner for the Redskins? That one doesn't need an answer. 8)

People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....

they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

I think being a teacher on any level may be the most frustating but also most rewarding profession.

Student... but my dream job is to be the 1B for the Boston Red Sox.

Or the radio/tv guy for the Red Sox, or a beat writter for the Red Sox... or...

Well, you can see where this is going...

Anyway, Fios, with experience in editing, it doesn't sound to me like your dream is out of reach... being a beat writter would be a pretty fun job, lol

I may be the only one living my dream job.

Current job: None.

Former job: Business owner.

Dream job: Watching my children grow up, playing golf whenever I want.

I sold every business interest I had save two (small stakes with no day to day operational responsibilities) after deciding that my children will only be young once. I spend most days playing kickball, watching Save Ums or playing golf ( usually with one or more child, my 7 year old daughter shot a 48 for nine dropping at the 150 markers Monday). I wouldn't trade places with anyone.
This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.
