Gibbs' Hog's Double Celebration Photothon!!! 56k Beware!!!

Post by Gibbs' Hog »

Well, I promised myself a couple months ago that if I ever hit the 1000 post mark, I would not do anything cheesy like praise myself or gloat or throw some sort of wacky celebration.

However, this promise has been rescinded by myself, and I decided, What the heck?

Enjoy...

To get the partay started right, I would like to give a few shout outs...

SkinsChic -
You da best! I've got season tickets for the first time ever, and I have already been fully enjoying them - all thanks to you. I hope to meet you soon; probably at the second regular season home game (you know why, but explanation to follow).

Boss Hog & Taz -
You made my birthday/first-ever training camp a memorable one! It was very good to meet you, and I expect to toss a couple brews with you at some point later in the season, eh?

Redeemedskin -
You always PM me when my liberal ass gets a little carried away, trying to determine why I believe in the things I do. Thanks for that. And you sometimes make me laugh - sometimes.

JansenFan -
You have the same birthday as my fiancee - 'nuff said. And it was good to finally meet you the other week (along with Niki & the little guy) - I'll be back over at the tent in a couple weeks...

Other people I have met:

DEHog -
Thanks for the snausage, man. Hope to see you around some more in the upcoming games.

portis26 - cool guy

Honorable Mentions:

CLL - wacky, dude. I love it. Your posts crack me up.

crazyhorse, skinsfan1, cvillehog, JPFair, et. al. - Thanks for all the political mumbo jumbo.

If I forgot anyone, I am sorry...I'll get you in at 2k.

Now, back to the celebration...

Now for the 'Double' part of the Celebration...

As many of you already know, I am getting married soon. As in 5 days soon.

Many of you have already congratulated me, and I thank you very much.

After spending a good arm & a half, as well as a leg, I picked up one of these:

It is allowing me to do this:

And soon, I will be this:

I will be on my honeymoon for the home opener, so hopefully I will meet some more of you at the next home game.

Thanks THN, for providing a sanctuary where I may waste my time, grab a few laughs, get pissed off, and generally share my fanfare with other Redskins faithfull. I expect the next 1000 posts to be just as fulfilling as the first - as if that were true...

BTW, to all the haters and naysayers, all those posts from the Word Association Thread were not included in this event. 8)

I'm out - PEACE!

Edit: ps. sorry for the small size of the gifs - will try to do better next time. CLL took all the good ones anyway.

Thanks for the shout-out. Congratulations on the wedding. Pretty soon we'll be able to share PMs regarding marriage. And trust me, it ain't all conservative...

Again, congrats on both counts. It feels like just yesterday you were just another newbie with an "In Gibbs We Trust" avatar, and now look how far you've come.

You know? And here's the funny thing - I started off with my first moniker (guinnesscrazy, I believe, which is my 'screen name' for just about everything else online) and put up about 10 posts or so, before deciding I would like another alias.

I resigned-up with the name Gibbs' Hog, posted about 30-40 or so times, and then kind of left the site for a couple months (don't really know why, at this point... :? ).

It wasn't until I happened back on the site one day, immediately saw Terri's sale of season tickets, and picked 'em up right quick, that I would then become a full-fledged member.

In Gibbs We Trust... I kinda liked that avatar... 8)

I will absolutely be back for the Seattle game, and every other home game on the schedule - and possibly a postseason game...

My fiancee and I will be visiting the wonderful nation of Belize for our honeymoon. We leave on Sept. 6 and return on the 13th - and we are praying that we don't get wiped out by a hurricane while we're down there...

Either way, we'll make the best of it!

There are actually two Belizean national holidays in September - St. George's Caye Day (Sept. 10) and the Belizean Independence Day (Sept. 23). Why do I bring this up, you ask? Because the 'Carnival'-like festivities start up on St. George's Caye Day, and don't stop until the next holiday, so we will catch at least 2 full days of insanity while we're down there! -drinking

No, missing the game for his honeymoon isn't weak, but don't be surprised if Gibbs' Hog IS when he arrives at the Seattle game.

Enjoy Belize, my friend.

Thanks for the shout out GH. It was good to meet you, as posting is more fun when you can put a face with the screen name.

Not to mention, thanks for most of your 1000 posts. Your quality-post-to-total-post-count ratio is up there with the best.

Congrats on the wedding, have fun in Belize. I look forward to catching up with you at the seattle game.
