Or 2,912 yards in a season. Nothing to sneeze it...for a guy from the Citadel. Let's see. Two touchdowns in three quarters...64 quarters a season, not counting playoffs. That's 2,912 yards and 21 and one third tD's this year. Should be good enough to make Nemo rookie of the year...maybe not, considering how Griffin was treated last year.

Couldn't do any worse than the one we have now.

I do like that Nemo, though!

Hail to the Redskins!
Even though Rock is playing the best ball of his carrer, I still see Nemo making it. Yes, he has put the ball on the ground 3 times in 3 games (yesterday he fumbled but quickly recovered it) but Nemo has been pounding the ball. He was definately a 7th round steal and of course I'm rooting for him to make the team.

Man, i didn't realize Nemo had gotten that many yards against the Steelers. Actually i really didn't think he had that good of a game. I was really impressed with Betts running in this game. He was on a mission. Nemo is actually more of a Gibbs type back. Maybe Portis will be trade bait for some draft picks if Nemo and Betts keep it up.

Nope, I highly doubt that. However you are correct that Nemo is a Gibbs power runner.
I really think our running game is going to be sold this year. There will be Portis running and slashing all over the field, Betts will add a little finese and a little power, so will Rock, and Nemo will come in on 3 and inches and just plow through.

This past year's draft had few "steals" but Nemo was certainly one of them. Wonder how the Broncos front office is feeling right now after investing a 3rd in Claurett?

In reference to putting the ball on the ground three times, I assume you mean 1) After a score, 2) an actual fumble, and 3) a brief drop and then regaining of control. Correct?
If so, I agree there were three. I'm not sure how seriously I take them. I think the actual fumble was more a case of a rookie mistake and an excellent job of gang stripping the ball than a case of butter fingers. The drop after the touchdown was curious. I don't know if it was a real drop or if he was being NFL cool because he knew he had broken the plane. I couldn't see the action of his brief fumble and regaining of control. Was he already down? It sort of looked like it slipped out on contact with the ground, but I really couldn't see it well enough to know.

No chance, Portis is the guy. Betts has been very impressive but Portis looked even better against the Steelers.
In the preseason games I have seen, all our backs look very good and Betts and Nemo have really run with power and ground it out. However, I often see the o-line just open gaping holes and I think if Portis was in there that would be a 20yd pickup instead of a 6 or 7 yarder.
Portis is an elite back and he is going to thrive in the system this year, there is no chance that we are going to trade him. It is crazy to think that either Betts or Nemo are even close to Portis although they are very good players. Portis is going to put up huge numbers this year.

I had no idea he had that many yards against Pittsburgh. Personally, I was impressed with Rock, I thought he ran well.
On a little side note, is it possible for the skins to keep 4 RB's? Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Broughton. All have looked impressive, but I'm not sure what the rules are for the amount you are allowed to have.

If they keep 4 than thats fine, if they can't then Im sorry but Rock has to go. He's a great guy and all but we need a BIG back. Betts is not big, he's simply bigGER than Portis.

Dont get me wrong, I dont dislike Rock. Its just that we need to have some size. Aside from one fumble by Nemo he and Rock have played equally well. Nemo pushes the pile where someone like Rock and Portis will get walled up. We have enough small guys, we need some size.

The Citadel has given our team this year a goal line monster. Nemo is not going anywhere. But R. Cartwright has improved and is keeping 4 RB's really too excessive? I'd like to see us keep all 4 but if one has to go its gotta be the Rock, and that sux bcuz someone will get a steal off our waiver wire ala Frank Wycheck.

Could he have been tipping the plays? Was the 2nd string line simply outclassed, or did he play a bad game?
It was the line play. The cat was doing well in the other games but you have to realize that this line had people lower on the depth chart than #2.
Aside from the line play its my opinion that he's still thinking too much and thats part of being a rookie. Once he gets to the level where he can see the hole and hit it he'll be a beast.
If we cut him then I'll be very dissapointed. We have a lack of size at HB and Betts is NOT a big back. He's bigGER than Portis but is not big. Rock is solid and has a low center of gravity but is not big. We need someone who when they stand him up it wont be easy to stop his momentum and he'll push the pile.
