FIRST WAVE OF CUTS!!!

Post by SkinFan 0-16 or 16-0 »

The first wave of cuts has hit, go to www.redskins.com and click the redskins tv link, Exclusive Player Cuts.

Here are the names so far. A few might surprise you.

Charles Howard
Jerome Nichols
Jarred Newberry
Clifton Smith
Brock Forsey
Charles Byrd
Jeff Chandler
Bryson Spinner
Steven Harris
Jonathan Combs
Billy Baber
Darnerian McCants

And once again how is Ade Jimoh still here? I'm going to say he will make the team and stay here for 20 years. That way hopefully he'll get cut. I keep saying he would be cut and I am always wrong. Hopefully I'll be wrong about this too.

Sorry to hear about McCants and Baber. We should have drafted smarter with Newberry, your draft picks should make the team.

Ade Jimoh

How Ade Jimoh is still on the roster is beyond me. He makes Stanley Richard look like Ronnie Lott.

Yeah, we knew D-Mac was cut last night -- looks like he lost out to Dyson. (A.Brown had the kick-return advantage).

But this is a more-than-viable thread since it includes the rest of the cuts -- and none that are totally out-of-the-blue.

He HAS to have pictures of someone, somewhere, doing something they don't want made public.

Its because he is good on special teams. If you know how Gibbs works, good special team players have a good chance to get a roster spot.

Nobody said that it wasn't. Why do you think only the D-mac portion of a RESPONSE to the initial post was quoted?

Props to mattyK for dropping it into our laps last night.

I don't think it matters that he included his D-Mac opinion in a thread other than the original.

To me, he got slapped on the wrist for providing new information.

I've never really been a fan of D-Mac but we shoulda definitely kept him on the roster. I also think it's a shame we cut Newberry cause one of the guys I was hoping we'd draft (Ernest Shazor or Jovan Haye) would have definitely made our squad IMO and I had a feeling drafting J woulda been a mistake.

I don't think he got slapped on the wrist.

Mark just showed him that the McCants release isn't BRAND new info, like the other 12 cuts.

About the cuts, I'm surprised Howard and Nichols were cut this early, let alone cut at all. I think they are practice squad candidates.

I think this was Clifton Smith's last stint as a Redskin. I hope my boy does good elsewhere.

They could still end up on the practice squad if they aren't picked up somewhere else, right?

Some teams try to dump who that really want for their PS early, trying to slip them through during the first mass casualty list and giving other teams less game film to look at to properly analyze them.

What happen to Manuel White, I think I saw him once in pre-season.

Was he a waist of a 4th rounder, maybe should of picked up a D-lineman? I guess we drafted a need type position, but what has he done.

Nemo was a great steal in the 7th

Are you kidding me. You being here in LA, you should know that he was a stud at UCLA. Give him some time and he'll perform. Watch this Thursday. He's also learning a new position. They are grooming him to be an HBack. He played tailback through college.[/quote]

I so called the Billy Baber thing and you know it Jansenfan!! :nana: You thought he'd be sticking around.

Still a little shocked about D mac, but such is football. I hope he lands somewhere he can actually play.

If there's anybody here who thinks that D-Mac will wind up on our practice squad, think again. I can practically see Marvin Lewis drooling from here.
D-Mac was my pick for breakout guy this year. It's a shame, but I always felt that there was something more to the issues between he and Coach...
After all, it isn't every day you read Gibbs saying, "This guy could be the next Art Monk", and then not play him.
The other surprise to me was the 6th rounder. I wondered why they picked him to begin with, and apparently the coaching staff began to, as well.
Hey. You gots to make room on the roster. The middle of the DLine is looking pretty crowded these days. It's all good.

I think that you are on to something there Tc west.I got a feeling that D-mac wasn't happy becuase he feels that he was not a go to guy for the offense.I think that someone will pick D-mac up.
