Not real sure if he ever was a true Redskin. He seemed he wanted to do things his way and not to listen to his coaches. Not to upset over this. We are deep on WR'S.

I kinda saw this one coming...he was a heck of a nice guy and will be missed. I don't think his heart is in football truthfully and I'm not sure if he will play anymore?? Maybe?? Wonder what is next? GOD NOT THE EAGLES OR COWGIRLS!!!

I still say he was a great Red Zone threat that was never fully utilized to his potential. Look for him to sign somewhere else and burn us down the road.

I agree that he will likely burn us somewhere down the road. But what a very classy way to go out! I'm extremely impressed Mr. McCants. Good luck, where you may go! ;-)

I was really hoping he'd make the team. I guess we have the smurfs part 2 now. Oh well, hopefully he'll catch on with someone else and do well (but play bad against us).

I lost any sadness realizing he was happy.. Or it seems how he wrote it.

Awww. Man, D-Mac was the man.

I really hate this news, D-Mac was one of my first favorite Redskins and I was really pulling for him to make the team.

I wish him the best of luck where ever he goes.

Man, that is sad news but if you think about it he has been replaced with Cooley.

I bet Kevin Dyson is breathing a sigh of relief. He might not make it either though.

DMAC we'll miss ya brother, can't say we'll miss your production because well there wasn't any, but hey when you come to camp and let A.Brown and J. Thrash and K. Dyson pass you up in the backup role, well we all should have seen this coming. Though I can see us needing a big reciever at some point...Whats WESTBROOK DOING...Gibbs could've had Michael W. in the pro bowl.

Accuse me of sour grapes if you want, but I said before camp started he wasn't going to get a real shot, and I don't think he's gotten one-- this year or last. After his year in 03, he should have gotten a real look-see, especially with our weaknesses at WR. I had to figure it was a matter of style...or personal...I still do. All that PR about him getting a shot this year-- pure smoke.

you people who are posting knocks on mccants, that's pathetic. darnerian was a solid, solid contributor every time he was actually let on the football field. he catches EVERYTHING (as long as he doesn't have a giant gash with 5 sutures in his hand. keep in mind he has been healthy pretty much all the time until this one injury). he was always there in the clutch to pick up that crucial 1st down (one of the few WRs we had for a while who didn't run 6 yard patterns on 3rd and 7). and of course his biggest asset, he is simply a redzone monster. cooley shouldn't be "replacing" him there, they should be complimenting him. how does a defense account for cooley, mccants, and portis/nemo in the redzone/goal-line?

i know we have a lot of receivers now who should be pretty darn good, maybe even great. but i feel like mccants deserved a role, and he will surely find that on some other team--- i just hope it isn't philly (or dallas or NY). with philly's WR injuries/turmoil, i would be surprised if they don't pick up mccants right away.

Excellent point. Cooley is our "RED ZONE" man now...to be sure.

I'm not completely suprised to read this.

I'm just very disappointed. I really like him and hope he does well.

Just like my mom, I also think he will land in Philly.

It's too bad he was never motivated to practice hard.

He has no one to blame but himself. He has a supwerbowl winning coach and he still acted like a little girl.

It'd be one thing if we cut him because of money or we didn't want him but I seriously think if he would have FREAKING tried he would have been a good playmaker for this team.

One AVERAGE year means jack! The Skins fans pump him up but who is he to anyone else? Nobody.

Im so irritated because he could have done so much but he was just lazy.

He will get a look soon.

I do not want to see him stay in the division, but Philly could use him.

Who's our big endzone target Cooley. I know he's good. He's actually my fav. receiver but we need a guy with some height and if I am correct our tallest receiver is 6'1 and that's Kevin Dyson. Let's see if he stays also.
