Corey who? Who's he? Position?
I'm guessing we probably won't be interested in him unless he's a DE.

Pretty sure he's not a DE though.

He plays DT. I don't think we should persue him. We have a great rotation in the interior line with Salevea, Noble and Boschetti.

Sure Simon is a better talent than these guys, but there is something to be said about not messing up the team concept we have on D.

Dont know, him and Griffin would make the best DT duo in the league.

If we had the cap room we probably would. But I doubt we would be interested anyway

I wouldn't mind pursuing him, and even paying him some decent money, but only if he can convince the coaching staff that he buys into the team concept we have going. The last thing I would want is to bring in a Merc

Man....Id love to up the talent on our defense. Simon is a better talent than some of our other guys and would help us out in a few ways.

1. Our push would be a lot more consistent and stronger.
2. Simon and Griffin COMMAND attention. It'd be hard to stop our blitzes.
3. Lavar Arrington free on 3rd down, untouched!
4. Bowen Free
5. It'd keep people off of our smallish MLB's.

Should we get Simon? I dunno. Maybe we should wait.

A DE would be better.

underachievers? isnt he first overall in sacks for DT's the last 5 years? only way to beat the eagles is to blitz blitz blitz. pressure mcnabb... simon can do that.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

The biggest problem that we have in pursuing Simon would be the cap. As I understand it, he turned down a tender from the Eagles, and is looking for a contract worth something like $5 million per year. We have about $2 million right now, so we are not even in the ballpark as far as he would be concerned.

If he comes cheap, why not?

But the real question is why would he want to come cheap?

Dream on. The Eagles know what they are doing. If he was worth the money he is looking for the would have signed him. The didn't mind opening up their wallets for Kearse.

Must I mention B. Taylor, T. Vincent, H. Douglas...C. Simon. Come on folks.

why does everyone say that?? blitzing plays exactly into their strengths. the eagles get their best plays out of "broken plays", when the play breaks down and mcnabb has to scramble around and make something happen. when he's kept in the pocket, he is still pretty decent but you've taken away his most dangerous aspect.

when teams try to pressure/sack mcnabb, they end up past him (cuz he scrambles out of the way of the rush), and he has tons of open field ahead of him to scramble or throw a sissy dump-off pass to one of their sissy running backs, who then gets to run for about 8 miles before he even gets to anyone in the secondary.

the opposite strategy would seem far more effective-- keep your men on the line and clogging up that open field in front of him, preventing him and his RBs from running through it so easily.

Not to mention the number of screen passes they throw, which are made to beat the blitz.

Laswt year he came into the season fat and slow, and it took him like 6 games to get into game shape.

He was about to do the same thing this year. He has a lot of talent, but that is not motivation.

It's not a matter of not being able to pay.

I think the Eagles have the most cap room out of any team in the NFL.

The Eagles didn't want to pay top-dollar to someone who plays in a position they feel they have plenty of depth at.

wow, some dont pay attention to when the eagles lose. hmmm, eagles lost to the patriots and steelers last year (games at the end of year dont count due to players sitting) why? because the steelers and patriots blitzed and threw off the timing of that offense. carolina did it to them the year before in the playoffs and so did tampa the previous year. sorry, i live in philly so i watch alot of their games.

They did the same thing with Trotter a few years ago, and we remember how that worked out. I also heard on Mike and Mike this morning that Baltimore and Cincinati are very interested in him. So I have a feeling that his price will be too high for us. If he just wanted to cheeply play for a Super Bowl contender, like us, then why not? Maybe I am dreaming a little or maybe not!!!!!!

Just an aside, but a lot of people were crying that we couldn't get value out of former first rounder 50/50.

The Eagles are about to lose their franchise player with absolutely no compensation.

Corey simon?

Redskin fans don't know that he's arguably the biggest drama queen on a football field? I don't know, maybe GF can qualify this, but the guy seems to go down like he's been shot 6 times a game, only to magically re-appear just moments later. Kind of weird from such a burly dude.

His production is still decent but it goes down every year.

I say, pass.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
