Red River Shootout

Post by WuSkinsFan »

:?: For you college football fans out there, anybody think that Texas will beat OU this year? A lot of the talking heads are saying this will be Mack Brown's year since the Sooners don't look to be as strong.

Personally, given our streak against the Alice Cowboys, I like to see a team break their run of bad luck. Go Red Sox! Go Skins! Go UT (even though I am not a Mack Brown fan b/c he left my Tar Heels high and dry)!
After every game, every play & every highlight, I'll always remember #21. RIP Sean.

Welcome WuSkinsFan. I think Mac Brown better win that game. I also think UT better not overlook A&M and Tech this year. They may just get so geared up for Ohio State and OU that they forget about A&M or Tech. A&M should have beaten them last year.

I root for UT, unless they're playing the Aggies or the Terps.

Be sure and check out the main page and all it has to offer.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

Thanks Texas Hog. I will explore everything on this site. So far I love it!

A&M is getting a lot of love in the preseason reviews. Francione is one of the best at turning a program around. A play here or there and they could have had 9 wins (possibly 10) last season. They won't lose to Baylor this year, that's for sure.

Man, I'm really hyped for football to start up again!

I'll check back with you in a few as the season gets going.
After every game, every play & every highlight, I'll always remember #21. RIP Sean.

No, UT-Austin I feel cannot win this. First off, mentally, Oklahoma would win this game alone. I don't have tiem to argue my point, but I'll protect the OU offense against the "Jason White left" people.

OU has been underrated entering this year. Plus, Rhett Bomar, who should be starting by then, was all the recruit Peterson was, who still will benefit from a college weight room, awesome and will continue to carry the offense, just not to the extent he did last year. Oh yeah, the WR who actually lead the team in TDs last year is back.

Oh yeah, I hate UT-Austin more than ANYTHING.

And, there's this tidbit from the ever-annoying world of political correctness.

SBC Communications, the corporate sponsor of the game, is suddenly uncomfortable with the word "Shootout."

So, welcome to the "Red River Rivalry."

Excuse me, but the description for the forum mentioned college football.

Back off.

That is really annoying. It's akin to when Abe Pollin changed the name of the Bullets to the Wizards b/c of the violence going on in DC. Not to downplay the signficance of the violence, but nobody was thinking about shooting someone b/c the basketball team was named the Bullets.
