Steelers game
I dont think Patrick is going to be able to get a warm cozy feeling after the game on Friday against the Steelers - the Steelers defense is playing like crazed dogs - check out what they have already accomplished in the last 2 games
In the wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins, the Steelers defense has six sacks, three interceptions, nine forced fumbles and seven recoveries, and two touchdowns.

Pardon me, but we ARE NOT the Iggles or Dolphins.

Don't expect the Stillers to fare that well against our first team offense, thank you very much.

Why?
We're fans.
And if last year's results meant a hill of beans, what would be the point of ever playing the following season?
With how much the league changes from year to year now because of free agency and the cap, any team can go from the basement to the penthouse.
But it's preseason... so who cares? Glorified practice.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
After McNabb threw an int on the first play he proceeded to pick the Steelers apart. Their secondary in particular looked very weak. As long as you can nullify the blitz (and i know G Williams has taught Gibbs all the things that teams do that can do this, after all he is the blitz guru) the Steelers D isn't that great.
BTW, the Eagles suck!

Really, so you were able to assess our biggest strength, Clinton Portis, on the one carry he has had in preseason?
And when we averaged 5.1 yds a carry without him last week our O-line couldn't block?
And it isn't a "positive" when we have the #1 passing offense in the NFL this preseason?
Yeah, I haven't seen any positives either.

what about our kick returner?

Yooo ''gottoloveit'', you said we haven't improved anything and it's only preseason, well as far as I know in this preseason we have the second best offense and we're in the top three in passing yards so if for you say that's not an improvement after being the 30th ranked offense last year then exuse me parter but I think that's a huge improvement.

Correction - Philly beat the Skins once and squeeked out a second win due to a misguided Ramsey pass.
The reality of the NFL is that any team can win on Sunday. The good teams find a way to win the the close game, The Skins by the way lost 10games by a combined 25 points. That is a difference of 2.5 points a game, An DAMN field goal! The reality is the Skins are a team on the verge of a break through and if Ramsey can just manage the Offense the future looks bright.

Patrick has one TD and 3 picks - your happy with that?
The problem is that you are misguided. The O-line is trash? That stament alone disqualifies everything you have posted in my book. Besides every 2 year old knows Defense wins Championships. The offense just has to hold onto the ball and the D will take care of the rest.

I hate to agree but the critics and "Gottotake a #2" is right. We can have the #1 offense in the NFC, but if we cannot score and win games, we will still suck in everyones eyes.
If we don't score we don't win.
The first team offense has not shown it can score when need be. Stop sucking Ram's

Dude, you are so full of BS! I come at you with statistics and you come back and just say "your o-line is garbage" again.
Here are some facts:
1. Our line manhandled the Kris Jenkins, Julius Peppers and the rest of the Carolina d-line (probably the best in the league) in week 1. They didn't even give up a sack in the entire game!.
2. Even without Portis we rushed for 5.1 yds / carry last week.
3. I remember last year in the game where Ramsey threw the pick, on the goal line Samuels took out three Eagle defenders and Portis WALKED into the endzone. He only gave up one sack all of last year, he is a DOMINANT player. Rabach and our guards are excellent players as well and they have really shown what they can do this preseason.
4. Last year we had a 42 year old right tackle. This year we have a Pro Bowler in there!
Don't just give me this "your o-line sucks" crap. If you think so back it up, you can't just say that without any justification. Have you even seen any games anyway because your ignorance is really showing?
I'll listen to you when you stop just repeating your talking points and come up with something of real substance. Until then your inane comments have no meaning and you are just being a troll.

YOU JUST SAID PRESEASON WAS CRAP.
This is a run based offense that hasn't run the ball yet in the preseason. And not because we can't, because Joe Gibbs never shows his cards. It isn't even that Portis isn't playing. We're letting the first, second and third string units work more on the passing game than the running game. The complete opposite of how the offense will run in the regular season.
And if you've watched two games and made the comment that the o-line hasn't improved, then you either a) don't know what you're talking about, b) didn't actually watch the offensive line or c) all of the above. The o-line has been excellent in the first two preseason games... especially the first two units, and especially against the Bengals... and you're talking to a guy who watches an offensive lineman on nearly every single play... not the QB, not the RB... one of the OL...it's just how I like to watch a football game. i have seen enough improvement to know that with a little more time, this unit has the potential to be the dominant force that they individually make up... if they can stay healthy. They definitely still need some time to work together with a 40% change in the roster, but JJ and Rabach won't take long to assume the mold, esp. not Jansen. But to say that the 'o-line is garbage even with Jansen' when you concede that preseason is meaningless and when they have actually played well, then this is just obviously flaming.
This is a Redskins / Steelers thread. Check the rule on keeping threads on topic. There are threads on Ramsey, the o-line... whatever you want... and if there isn't one then go ahead and create one. But this thread is on the Steelers game, let's try and keep it that way. Doing otherwise is a violation of the rules.
Lastly, if you don't want a Redskin fans' perspective... then don't come to a Redskin fans' site.
