Skins #2 Total Offense #1 in Passing Offense (Yards/Games)

Post by HailtoTheRedskins »

I heard this today from Bugel on channel 4, he said we are #1 in Passing offense in the NFL (thats right not just the NFC, the NFL) total offense, so I had to check it out for my self. NFL.com stats say we are #2... We are also #1 in total NFL passing offense. So as bad as we think it is, just think if the ship gets right and ramsey stops passing to the other team we could be in for amazing things, not to mention another parade down Penn Ave.

And on the 7th day (Sunday) God made football, and he saw that it was good.

Wow I am kinda shocked to hear this. I guess it makes sense. We have been moving the ball. Our main problem is scoring points.

At least things seem to be going in the right direction even if its only preseason.

:D We are so close!!!I hope to see a shocking performance this weekend against the Steelers. The main thing is not turning the ball over!!!No fumbles and no Interceptions1!!If we stay close in the game and don't lose by more than three points.I say it will be a good game for us.

It took all three Cowboys QBs combined to put up the same amount of passing yards as each of our QBs have done in both preseason games!

Maybe more important, we've given up the fourth least amount of penalty yards!

Don't let pre-season stats cheer you up. Our offense still needs some work. Don't care even if we're the best offense in the league....we're STILL losing games right?
I'd rather take a win than a lousy rank.
(that is interesting though...an 0-2 team having the NFL's best passing offense)
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

That's interesting.

Why was it that just the other day on the "Top 5, Bottom 5" ticker on ESPN, they had the Skins in the lower realm for offense, and in the top realm for defense?

But I agree - winning games are more important than any of those stats will ever be.

This week will give us a better idea what the offense look like. Portis should be in the backfield and get some touches, and their may be less focus on passing since the season is getting close.

I noticed that as well and it was from last years stats.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. If they can get rid of them, we'll be great. If not, tons of yards won't matter. It's a fine line that we can easily work through.

I'm not worried about turnovers from this past week's game but I'm not repeating myself a third time to explain. There is a key to each and every pick Ramsey threw. And you won't see that when the games that matter are being played! ;-)

It may have taken Gibbs a little time to update his system, but look out now. If we can get our offense to be ranked in the top 10 or so we will be a tough team to beat. It took him a little time to get things started his time around, but he did and he will this time as well.

Passing yards is one of the worst weekly stats to rely on. It all depends on the situation. Every week teams throw for tons of passing yards in attempt to come from behind. When you compare passing yards to 100 yard rushers, teams with 100 yard rushers win a much hiogher percentage of games... thast being said, it's good to see that they're up to 7.4 yards per attempt, but turnovers is an even bigger statistic...

#1 passing offense is a load of crock. Look at our TD to Int ratio, 1 to 4. We have a retarding passing offense. Move up and down the field all we want and put no points on the board. "yea you have a nice S500, but it never leaves the garage." Get your sorry butt in gear, P Ram's
Go 06' Skins, Wildcard birth & please avg. more than 15 ppg.

Portis 1300 yrd.

If we really analyze the preseason, for those who actually watched it , they would know that in the Cincy game Ramsey actually looked good. Count the interceptions if u want, but i know he had the OPPORTUNITY to throw for atleast 2 moretd's. This all in the first half, without Portis. Last year we would be lucky to sniff 3 tds in 3 games. In all fairness to Ramsey, if that game were in the regular season he may not have made some of the same decisions. I doubt he would have had the chance to throw for his pass that got picked of in the endzone had Portis been in the game.

Lets see, that would have made it 14-0 first quarter. I am very excited about the progress we have made. I see Gibbs is already fixing the weaknesses.

don't forget all the other teams play their 3rd and 4th qb's. you had ramsey and brunnel play the entire game vs. cincy.

what does peyton manning play, 1 or 2 series?
