what is the deal with brunells passes he just thrown three good passes and all were dropped.(looked like last year all over again).I think brunells passes have some kind of wierd spin on them.
"Whatever Keyshawn, you will come up with any excuse for why you dropped the ball."

I saw a lot that struck me last night. First the fans were horrible. You do not get your quarterback back in the game by boo'ing him. So some of those mistakes I blame solely on the fan base that went to that game. If you are going to spend 80 bucks on a jersey you should have the balls to cheer for your team even if it isn't looking good at that particular moment.
The defense looked pretty good until we got to 3rd downs. It seemed after the 1st quarter they just let too much 3rd down conversions slip right passed them. It was nice to see Sean Springs out there and obviously healthy. Corny Griffin was obviously still working off that injury or he'd have been a little more of a contributor.
The one thing that was a little scary to me on offense was for Ramsey, in the begining it seemed like he couldn't connect with the new guys so Gibbs said throw it to someone he can get it to. That person, James Thrash. So does that mean there is just no chemistry between Ramsey and Moss or Patten?? Or it's still developing?
And where was Tom Tupa?? Did he get cut already? We actually called Jake during the game thinking from his vantage point he could see him on the sidelines but we never saw him.
The only other thing that I noticed was that everything that worked for Ramsey seemed to go to his right side. If he tried to make a play happen on the left side of the field it just did not work. Maybe it's not important. I just thought it was somewhat odd.

Ok I totally forgot one player that shined last night. He always does though. James Thrash! He is AWESOME. I was looking for pictures from the game and I found this. What a reminder that this guy is well worthy of being labeled one of the best.
They labeled this picture "Taking a Thrashing" at nfl.com. And this is worthy of being an avatar!

Tom Tupa strained his back during warm ups. That's why he was out.
I agree - it's rather pathetic that fans start booing one of their own players (the one everyone called for last year in Ramsey) after the first drive. I'm glad that Redskins fans are becomming whining fair weather babies who call for their QB's head after the first drive in the 2nd preseason game (sarcasm). It's sad... Ok, that's a bit on the harsh side but come on people.
On another note, he looked brilliant at times and horrible at times. If he can learn not to force plays, he'll be fine. If he doesn't, Brunnell will be back in action. The Oline looked good, first defense looked really good. I think it was an improvement from last week - we just can't turn the ball over like that.

Wow 1974 I thought I liked you but come on Brunnell back in action??? Please don't even joke! Ask DE my reaction when he started with this after the game! No QB controversy. No Brunnell. He looks good because he's not up against anyones starters. Remember that please!

I didn't call for him back in action - I said if Ramsey continues to make bad judgement (as in, into the REGULAR season), it will be considered. If he learns from these mistakes, he'll be great. Sorry, first string or 25th string players - Brunnell does look like a new man... ne NEVER played like this last year.
I want Ramsey to succeed but you can't force a TD throw when it's 1st and 10. Throw the damn thing out of the end zone and start fresh with second down. THese are all things he can learn so I hope he does (and I think he will). Ramsey did look more comfortable this week than last. This is what the preseason is for, working out the kinks.
On a great note, how about Patten? - 3 catches for 109 yards. Those numbers are amazing.

Patten is great. Someone to get the big catches. I of course thought that Santana would fill that role but as long as someone does it, I'm not complaining.
Ok I know Ramsey needs improvement before the season. But you have to remember I was probably the only fan that never even wanted Brunnell here. I'd be happy having Hasselback in there. Who I believe we were all saying looked great during preseason last year.

I thought Hasselback looked good at times but the guy will be a career back-up (and that pathetic game vs. Dallas) Despite his salary, I'm glad Brunnell is here to give Ramsey a real vet to help him work through this. Not to mention, a good guy for Campbell to learn from as well.
And, if Ramsey goes down, a healthy, good Brunnell is good for all of us.

Blah blah blah, yeah whatever!!

Sorry I just don't like Brunnell and it isn't all about how he performed last year. I didn't like him here in the first place, I even heckled him at training camp last year.
I'm all for whatever helps the team so as a backup I'll be happy that he's looking good. I just want Ramsey looking better then he does!

For the past 4 years, I would say "Ramsey will be fine" but he should know many of these judgement type things by now. I really want him to succeed but it's time for him to take it to another level. The future is now... if not, your hated Brunnell is going to be in his shoes by week 6. I want Ramsey to be in there but I'm not going to back him unconditionally. I want the best person in there to take us to the next level. That said, I'll never boooo him. I think he's a great kid and has the tools to succeed... it's up to him. He needs to become mentally stronger and more focused now more than ever.

Look at his performance during the 2 minute drill.
He doesn't have time to think, everything is rushed.
He has to focus on getting everyone set and ready to run the play (just a quick glance at the D and he goes from there).
You rarely see him patting the ball during the 2 min. (those are his nevers).
I think Ramsey thinks too much a lot of the time.

I agree - that's all mental. If he can focus at all times, he wouldn't have these problems.
