Injuries. I can't go for one season without losing 3 to 4 of my stars (not just role-playing starters) to season ending injuries within the first couple of weeks. My brother and I were playing a franchise mode, and, after the pre-season and week 1 of the regular season, there were a grand total of 22 season ending injuries, 30+ injuries of 10 weeks or more, and a plethora of more minor injuries around the league. Game matchups basically became who had their best player and who didn't--that's not how the real NFL works. I know that injuries happen, but if the programmers at Madden cut injuries by 50% then we'd be talking more realistic numbers, IMO. Every year I can only go for so long before having to turn off injuries because I just can't take the frequency.
Fatigue. I've got Clinton Portis, and I can't get the guy more than 15-20 carries a game because he's tired ALL THE TIME. The worst, for me, is when he sits out for a few plays, I punt, the other team gets the ball, the end of the quarter happens, I get the ball back. . .and he's in but he's STILL TIRED. I run Portis for 1-2 plays and he's out again. Why should I have to center my game plan about when Portis will be in and when he'll be fresh? I want to focus on strategies such as run vs. pass, counters vs. off-tackles. . .not wonder if Portis is going to have the steam to carry the ball more than 4 times on this 8+ play drive.
Does anyone else have these problems? Does anyone else think that the problems are re-occuring year to year?
I traded for the rookie RB that the Giants have. He's 6'3 and 250lbs or sumthin crazy like that. He is a beast and I used him in certain packages and Portis for others. I hit my goal of 100 yards with Portis and then grind out the rest of the game with the rookie.
If I play all the games I usually never loose players to injury. But as soon as I simulate the preseason or a game. Everyone goes down. Other teams players get injured alot too though. Pinkston tore his achilles and is out for the season after the first preseason game.
I started my season with the updated rosters so I could not trade Gardner or Barrow, but whatever, I like Mccune and running the ball anyways.
i picked up koren robinson...haven't played with him yet, but his specs show that he is a beast. all i need to do is decide on a number 4 receiver and i should be set...
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

I picked him up too. He's no better than Rod in this game but I like his visor.

does anyone just use the roster you've got ???L.O.L. !!!
i tried doing that, and it works to an extent, but if all else fails, you have to make improvements...i play with the updated roster that i get from EA Nation when i play online, and im 2-1, so I guess it does work. but in my franchise, I'm the GM, not Danny Snyder

has anyone else realized that cooley catches anything you throw in his general direction...i just run out patterns to cooley and he ends up with like 150 rec yds and 2 tds--he's a monster!!
