Rex Grossman done?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

OMG!!!

Mark!! Give them Mark Brunell!!! Is there a difference in how the cap hits you in regards to releasing and trading?

Maybe its not a good idea to get rid of him but I wouldn't mind if we did.

Grossman is out 3-4 months.

Man, it was kind of funny but I felt bad for my brother-in-law.

The funny thing is was that I was at his house watching all the coverage and they showed that.

I feel bad for him because the Bears get a lot of bad breaks. They only time I won't be concerned about this is Sept. 11th.

When there's a devil smiley to point it out it's not really subliminal. It's pretty much supraliminal at that point.

The Bears starting QB just broke his ankle and is out 3-4 months. As unfortunate as this is, this does improve our chances of winning that opening day game, not that it was in doubt anyway :-)

Is a loser......

As many of you hopefully noticed the Bears (who we play opening day) have lost their already crappy quarterback.

Presumably this means Hutchinson will start against us opening day........This is like having a 25 mile lead in a marathon is there any way Benson and the bunch can catch up?
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

<-----Really likes Grossman,. I feel bad for the Bears, because they were playogg contenders for him, but that offense might be back to last year with only Muhammed added and Benson not signing.

That sucks for the Bears. Any time you lose such a valuable player in the first preseason game, it's really a tough loss. Remember last year, folks?

I would have preferred playing the Bears with Grossman because I'd like to beat them at full strength.

Now, I guess people will "expect" us to win that gamee so it's really a "no lose" game for the Bears. If they lose, they were expected to. If they win, it will be a great accomplishment.

I just hope that the Skins players don't look past the Bears now.

Being game #1 of the season, I doubt that would be possible, though.

This is my new mantra, in case you guys haven't picked up on that. I don't wan a possible win asterisked. I'd druther beat 'em with their starters.

Here's the other thing. It's kind of bothersome to read so many people downright giddy to see an opposing player go down with an injury that could conceivably affect the player for the rest of his career. (Not likely, because he's young...but still...) I imagine if a Bears fan happened to wander over here (and the opposing team's fans do tend to find Hogs.net during the season) he/she'd be pretty riled up over these kinds of comments. I also imagine that if one of our own guys went down with an injury (has been known to happen), nobody here would want to read about somebody liking that.
What goes around, comes around. Forget about "classy". Just take it easy. Lie to us. Pretend you're sincerely sorry.
Think of what Gibbs would say to your face if he read it.

They just signed Blake...

Bears, Blake agree to terms

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears agreed to a one-year deal with veteran quarterback Jeff Blake on Sunday, two days after Rex Grossman broke his left ankle.

blake is quite underrated, i think he's going to end up as their starter, maybe even in game one if he has the offense down. as far as grossman, it's kind of sad that their entire season hinged on an unproven player--shows just how royally screwed the bears really are.
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Yeah, he isn't "washed up" (like Brunell, right?), he's merely "worthless". No way should we have Blake over Brunell/Boonell/Bruhell, etc.

Also, after seeing Ramsey's performance on Saturday night, do you all seriously want us to trade the QB that clearly outperformed him in the same game? That would ruin his psyche for game 1 of the season.

I do feel sorry for the Bears. Rex hasn't gotten a chance to lead his team yet in the NFL. That must really hurt the young man. Hopefully he can come back and get a do-over on his introduction to the NFL.

Get well soon, Rex.
