Studs and DUDS vs the Panthers

Post by Cooley47 »

Offensive Studs
Brunell (even though I was secretly rooting against him)
Campbell- winging it around and his passes just looked better than the other two
Betts- all around great catching, blocking and running
Cartwright- one of the few Skin fans with his jersey was proud to see him shine
and NO. 1 STUD!!!!!.........DOCKERY- he flattened KRIS JENKINS among other things
Nemo Broughton- was a major stud and could be the next Rock Cartwright

Offensive Duds
Brunell (not in the game but he really hurt our chances in the future)
Patten- one catch I think and several passes to
Cooley- I have very high expectations and he was not around the ball alot

Defensive Studs
Boschetti- Yeah I said it he played for a long time and he looked good doing it
Clark- all over the ball and he was hitting hard
Bowen- hits so hard and its nice to see him healthy
Washington- brought the only real pass rushing the whole night
Newberry- he was blitsing dropping back in coverage he was all ove the place

Defensive DUDS
Taylor- Hardly even saw him out there...I thought when he was in there with the scrubs he would kill someone
NO. 1 DUD!!!!!!!-Rufus Brown- cut him right now!!!!he commits 2 penalties and gives up a touchdown in one drive
Marshall- Where was he? he better be a little noticable to have a breakout season this year
Prielou....or whatever- He looked like a rookie trying to make the practice squad with his arm tackles

I was very harsh and in no way do I expect the season to turn out like this for these guys......

I was impressed with Nemo and Betts, great game by both, I thought Rock played a great game but I got to give him a dud for changing to #31. Bring back to 40.

On defense, I was really impressed with #71 Aki Jones. He's been playing really well in practice and he carried it over into the game last night. Also, Matt Bowen looked good coming off the injury.

Broughton looked awesome to me... not only did he run well, but he made a great play on punt coverage. Took a perfect angle and made a great diving tackle.

I've been telling you all TC, this guy is a gem and IMO, our new short-yardage back.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

He throws a beautiful ball, doesn't he?! :)

Yeah, you missed Nemo and I would say A Brown and Dyson also played well on offense even though they were up against scrubs.

I really liked Jones at d line he played with some great energy.
A Brown was a defenite stud...

I think Sean looked good he definetly played a bunch of series in the second half. He is so quick to the ball its scary.
Great lateral session he had on the field goal block! Hes got that big play mentality.
I know this guy named Jimmy, he has a pet....POSTERNUTBAG! Thats his cats name, POSTERNUTBAG!!!

I believe he changed to 31 because his mother passed away at age 31, but I am not posotive on that.

And I have to dissagree about ST being a dud, I thought he was a ballhawk. Everywhere the ball went, he was right there. The only negative was when he foolishly tossed that lateral, but thats just a Playmaker trying to make a play.

And the ultimate DUD of the game was ADE JIMOH!!!

Ade Jimoh is the worst player in the NFL. He did one of the suicidal flying monkey Smoot blitzs where he just ran in like a fool, and basically jumped over the QB! Then he was getting blocked by like 170 pound WR's. I'm sorry, but Jimoh is just too terrible.

Jimoh is our worst player but last night Rufus Brown was the biggest dud of all.

I asked Jake at training camp why his number was 31 and not 40 and he said because his mom passed away on the 31st of the month. Not sure which month...but I believe he said it was sometime this year. I don't know where he got his info but that's what he told me.

I agree. Dufus Brown gave the Panthers 7 points on that 3rd Down Penalty, then he got the touchdown scored on him.

Jimoh trying to knock the piss out of chris weinke (whose 6'4" i might add) and missing was pathetic.

As much it pains me to say, McCants belongs in the dud group as well. I love his ability, but I sometimes questioned his dedication to the team and whether or not he really wanted to make the roster.

One stud who has yet to have been mentioned is ZAK KEASEY. I thought he showed great presence on the feild lastnight and had a couple of real nice plays on the defense. Props to Gregg Williams for getting one his sons ex teamates at Princeton to come out for a try out cuz I like what I see.

I saw that too, even though I only caught the second half.
