I 2nd that. I just want to win and don't care who is leading the team.
me too. as long as its not brunell. he has a whole season to make up for, before i become comfortable with him at qb again.
hey we are on the same page... brunell has alot of redskin fans' ass to kiss.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

29 secs to play bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers playing so it's hard to follow. Considering we started 2nd and 3rd stringers due to injury so we've seen everyone.

Campbell intercepted on the final play. What a way to end. Hate to be be negative, but this wasn't pretty and didn't give any indication of hope for improvement. Final, 28-10 Panthers. Help!!!!
That play where Raymer was blocking was beautiful. It's been quite a while since an offensive play actually worked out where there was a blocker leading down field. And I couldn't be happier that the blocker was Raymer. He was all over and playing damn well in the 4th.

The defense needs to do some tackling drills on monday.
Ramsey's numbers were better than it seemed, except for the early INT. But, he looked very uncomfortable.
Betts and Nemo looked great. Rock Cartwright got a lot of work too, and looked good. Combs bascially cost us 2 scoring chances by turning the ball over.
Brunell was very sharp, and had the good scoring drive.
I agree that the defense needs to pull things together but a lot of our core guys were out. Not with serious injuries but with stuff that hopefully was precautionary measure. Just making sure they were not going to get further injury.
I actually am not too disappointed. I knew not have Springs and Corny Griffin in there was going to hurt us and it did. I just hope come Bear hunting time we have those guys back.

I'm not very surprised by tonight. We had a lot of guys out, the offense was quite vanilla (as Gibbs always keeps it in the preseason) and there's a lot to work on but it all can be corrected. Ramsey was disappointing and lacked confidence but the RB's and Oline looked good.
They have a lot of work to do but they can build on some of the positives too.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

I didn't see much of the game -- although it was on in the office. Were they too busy hitting instead of tackling?
Well, as has been mentioned, it was mostly backups and scrubs, but there were many missed tackles. Either wiffs, tackling too high (and getting bowled over), bad arm tackles, etc.
Not happy but not disappointed either. Ramsey looked pretty bad at first but then started to settle down a little bit. Brunell looked pretty good and definately didnt have that arm strength last year. Campbell looked ok and promising. Our defense had basically no one on it that will be starting opening day so you can't judge their performance too much. Yeah, Washington and a few others played but no arrington, springs, rodgers, griffin, daniels and bowen and taylor played with the 2nd team. Also taylor jacobs didnt play either. We seemed to be trying to work on the passing game a whole lot more than the running game which makes sense since our passing game was non existant last year. Joe Gibbs' offense is based around the run and there was far more passing tonight. Looks like we are seriously trying to work on the passing game which is good. Add all that in plus with the fact that Gibbs shows none of his offense in the preseason and you gotta expect that type of game. What was the best thing that happened all night??? NO INJURIES!!!! It's just the first game of the season anyways and none of the veterans need it much to begin with. Turnovers are one thing Gibbs will not tolerate and I don't think Combs will make it to next friday night's game. We will settle in and be fine.
The biggest thing I got out of that game was that Darrell Green sucks as a sideline reporter. Gotta see some improvement out of him or I'll start giving him the Bill Maas (the 5th tier Fox guy we always get because we've sucked so bad recently) treatment. The Bill Maas treatment consists of turning the volume down to zero and listening to Sonny and Sam.

Yeah, not a good reporter, especially getting Bill Musgrave's name wrong! (He called him Bill Hargrove.)
I'm glad we found Nemo (couldn't resist)...he looks solid.
Antonio Brown looks like he could be a decent WR.
Uh...the kid that fumbled...forget your name. Thanks for coming out....but...
Brunell looked pretty darn good. His passes had some zip.
Campbell looked good, but...he's definitely not opening day material.
Ade Jimoh still sucks. Does he find a way to get burned every game he plays???
Dyson's got the edge DMac, I hate to say. McCants looked shaky. Dyson looked very solid.
Zac Keasey. Gotta cut that hair dude.
Just the general vibe I'm getting....Ramsey's not going to last this year. Just a vibe (having said that, though, he didn't do anything in this game to make me feel otherwise)
Defense will be solid again this year.
Is it just me or does Sean Taylor look skinnier in #21?? He just didn't look that physically fierce to me...maybe I'm just morphing Smoot's image in there...
Panthers cheerleaders were kind of old, weren't they? Or at least the one they kept showing.
Just the first preseason game...but I'm generally unimpressed w/the Offense at this point. Show me something next game...anything really...that I can find some glimmer that things will be different this year.

Dyson was playing against the training camp fodder, but he did look good. McCants did catch at least two first downs that I noticed. Apparently he has a hurt hand, though, so I don't know how that plays into things. I didn't notice either of the on Special Teams.
Here are my positives...
*The offensive line looked great
*Our running backs blocked well
*Mixing up our play calling
*Ladell betts is just awesome
*Antonio Brown is a big spark
*Brunell looks calm and showed a strong arm and good confidence in himself
*Antonio Brown looked good on kick return
Negatives...
*Ramsey looked rushed even though he had time
*Didnt show vision
*To many arm tackles by the defense

Obviously it was deserving of the Bill Maas treatment since Sam Rosen was doing the game.
I swear there was a news item in the past two weeks sating Patrick and Theismann were going to be doing the games. Maybe this week is because ESPN is doing a game Monday.
But if we have to deal with Rosen all preseason,Sonny & Sam are a much better option. In fact, I still like listening to Sonny & Sam.

And Darrell also seemed pre-occupied with height...he mentioned it twice...once when he was talking to Jansen and once when he was talking to Washington (I think). Just ask a brief question, then shut up and listen. On a brighter note...do you think he would be interested in playing again? I'll trade you 1 Darrell Green for 1 Ade Jimoh. Heck, Ade Jimoh can take up the sideline gig.

Im not panicking....yet....but Ramsey looked like trash.
The following excuses do not apply to his performance.
1. Its preseason.
2. A vanilla offense.
The same way I when 50/50 blames his drops on coaching changes. I the same way when Ramsey throws passes like he did tonight. Vanilla or not he needs to NOT throw the ball over the receivers heads, past them and behind them. He threw everything every way you could but the right way. The only pass he could complete were the 3-5 yard outs.
He made Brunell look good....
I was looking at the game and I refused to allow myself to feel good about Brunell.
