I agree with most everything you wrote except for the following:Joe would turn a blind eye to certain off the field items as long as they were the ultimate team players.
Spurrier turned a blind eye. Joe doesn't. It may not happen in full view of the public, but I wholeheartedly believe this man does more than just "turn a blind eye".

I've heard the same thing. Any interaction outside of "official" functions is breach of contract regarding their hire.
It's basically to maintain the integrity of the cheerleading staff. They didn't want it filled with a bunch of "hoochies" only looking to snag a ring from a player.
