We still have Samuels...

Wait. Hope Dan Snyder doesn't hook up the team with ES jerseys or we'll have to smuggle THN shirts to McCants, Samuels... And...

Steven Harris.

There's plenty of room in this world for their site, this one, and others.

It's all up to personal preference.

It's really silly to get all worked up over it and sling insults.

We're all still on on the same team folks.

Agreed.

Hey guys. Longtime reader, first time poster here. I really like the look and content you guys have here. If I didn't have bills to pay I'd post here more often.

I'm one of the moderators over at TheWarpath.net and I thought what better thread than this one to officially join this site once and for all.

As many of you have done with the other members on this site, I have developed some great friendships with the members of the Warpath.net and that, to me, is my immediate Redskins family so you'll forgive me if I feel protective of them, while still respecting members on other sites and recognizing that we're all one big family. I apologize for that run-on sentence.

But I don't feel as though ES necessarily approached this as though we were one big family. And that's what frustrates me. If we were one big family then all of us (ES, Warpath, HailRedskins, and TheHogs.net) would be part of this deal and we, or at least we moderators, would have been in the loop on this beforehand.

Case in point, as fellow Warpath moderator and camp reporter Joe Crisp and I were preparing the proposal for our charity football game (http://www.thehogs.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=162261#162261) and making numerous phone calls, not only did we keep everyone at our site in the loop but also everyone at all the other sites. We recognized that a big event like that with the involvement of such ex-greats as Art Monk, Charles Mann, Mark Moseley, Tony McGee (among others) was a great coup for the ENTIRE Redskins online community. And we wanted to share with everyone how things were progressing. Things are moving along well for a spring game by the way, we'll get you more details by the end of August.

But it feels like what ES did was basically go behind our back with the Redskins, and in the process shut Joe Crisp out (not to mention the reporters over at Hogs.net and HailRedskins.com).

But anyway, bygones. Congrats to Extreme. They've done excellent work and I hold no grudges. And congratulations to all the other sites (Warpath.net, Hogs.net, HailRedskins.com) for their continued commitment to the knowledgeable Redskins fan.

Nice to be a part of this board

Wow 14 pages in 24 hours...
Mods and Staff footprints all over the thread, Edits - Warnings scattered about.
All because a Redskin Message board is merging with the Skins.

I'd be pissed if ES was merging with the Gaints or the Dolphins. What is there to be upset about? This time could have been better spent if we had all went over to GF's spot and laughed at them and the TO situation.

Seems to me evryone was happy when ES, THN, and Warpath were all invited to camp (actually Jake did have to set a few things straight). We should be happy for ES. Most post-ers join message boards and forums be their team isn't providing the info and insight the tahey seek. To have a board connected to redskins.com will be a plus for all of us.

With affiliation come change.... Mark didn't create this site to have someone (or something) change it. He had a vision that we all enjoy.

It's funny how members from ES are coming over here to gauge what we think of this merger and members from here are log on over there for the same reason.
My question is how does this change what you do - did - will continue to do :?:

 I'm going to continue doing what I always do - I visit here, If I have something to contribute I will if not I'll moderate when needed and go on. I also continue to visit ES (I've been a member for over a year), if I have something I'd like to add to a discussion there I will ( I have % times  ). I think I'll continue to check out redskin.com too.

I'll bet those of us that only come here will continue to only come here, those that only visit here when something like this happens - thanks for dropping by. Those like me will just do what we do.

Congrats to extremskins and Art on the move, remember to stay Fan BASED and fan Focused and I wont have any problem with this.

I was away all day so I missed most of the fireworks but I noticed Mark as felt the need to calm down a few long standing members of this site and a few newbies that slightly resemble Trolls. I appears he got his point across, but I can't help but wonder what he could have been doing so far away from home (at redskin camp)? Instead of reminding post-ers of things they already knew.

Board rules are limited and straight forward - moderation is light and mostly behind the scenes, Tolerance is high by the staff. BH thought of everything (he even included a smack forum for those that can't hold a desent conversation). However what do you do with a thread that pits on message board againt another :?

Conversation is the main reason I have 5 post on ES and 800 times as many here. I'm not knocking the content of other sights, but this place is what you would call "The Shiznik" and I'm glad it's owned and operated by a Redskin Fan. With affiliation comes change, limitations and above all censorship. ES will fight these changes and will win some of the battles, but there will be battles.
Should ES start writing articles, they'll have to be proffed and aproved by someone that works for "the Danny" If you a article produced by a staff member of THN, you know it's fan based, hasn't been run through some PC machine and edited a million times to the point that you don't know what the writer was trying to get across.

Again I wish ES the best of luck with hookup with the Skins. but for the record...... for .....
Redskin News and insight
Updates sometimes before redskins.com makes it "official"
Player updates
and Roster Moves as they happen.

if you didn't know YOU BETTER ASK SOMEBODY...... THN is your source.

Not to toot my own horn but for a Skins site we have the best news from around the leauge (we post stories before the NFL newswire has them) Mark welcomes all fans. The over/under on SKINS_DOMIN_8 and Crasyhourse lasting a week on ES after the merger is 71 hours 44 mins look how long they've been here?

That's my My 2 cents My 2 cents

:hmm: what's up with future Bang cartoons and all those bandwidth eating Sigs

I'm not hatin'

Wow! It took me over 10 minutes to read through this thread since my last post. I agree with BH, in his post to ES, that all of this site bashing (both ways) has really become childish.

When I tailgate at FEDEX, I invite all Redskins fans to join me.....from THN....from ES...from everywhere. We're all in the same boat, people.

The only problem I, personally, have at ES is that they won't let me use my "Justice Hog" avatar over there. :(

First, WELCOME to all the new posters WHEREVER they come from (ES, Warpath, Webskins etc etc). There are great fans in every board. This is OUR home. Just being Skins fans makes you good people in my book.

Welcome to OUR home!

Why write what has been said well before? See:

DEHog wrote:I guess the question is if your affiliated the Redskins are you still considered a "fan site" Congrats to ES. As for me I just think if you want to get closer to the fans...you should allow the fan sites to keep their autonomy while allowing access. Mini-camp was a great example of how well this can work, I thought is was a huge success and a giant step in the right direction.

Congratulations to ES! Hopefully greater cooperation and communication can be established between the Skins organizations and ALL fans, regardless of website affiliation.

It took me HALF an hour to follow the thread with a very slow connection from the Caribbean.

Congrats too. I'm sure traffic will just skyrocket -- but not from me. Once I found THN (to go along with Webskins), I stopped looking for places to go. I had never even heard of ES before this thread.

I just hope the ES staff DOESN'T get improved access. They're still fans and fans stay OUTside the ropes.

In my eyes, the only thing they did was sell out. They might have the biggest membership number but The Danny has always been blinded by big numbers.

On another note, seriously....to those guys that are getting their pants all in a wad...chill just a bit. This thread has turned into one big pissing contest....and a pissing contest over which message board is better. The fight over the supremacy of message boards is something out of Napoleon Dynamite. Seriously people, I feel like a big enough nerd already that I post on a message board (and, worse yet, understand the abbreviations and board lingo). Please don't make me feel any dorkier. Please.
