In reality skins24, it's no different than the reaction when BossHog was on the WP chat. The initial reaction was less than friendly.

To many, THN is our team; our family. ES is the same to you. When something like this happens, people are bound to defend their families.

I really think this has gotten way out of hand.

4th post.
Totally uncalled for.

(3rd post wasn't that great either)

Like Boss said, people are going to favor their home site. It wasn't nothing to take that personal. Im not going to come out and say that anyones post was bad or wrong because people are expressing their love for this site and I doubt that anyone really hates ES to the extent that some people are taking it. People are going to rep their hood  .

Just like people said that THN would have taken the deal, I know that some of the same "jealousy"/homerism would have happened at ES.

Not the flashy commercial joint...

Yeah, I don't know why everyon is so mad...

I mean mostly everyone from ES are still REDSKIN fans.

They hate Dallas
They hate Brunell
They trust Gibbs
And once again, they are Redskin fans!

Now would I rather see the Redskins and THN team up, of course, our staff deserves it more than anyone, but anything that can expand Redskins knowledge and support, well I'm all for it.

However I'll still only post here

I posted to the Extremeskins thread and I'm going to post the exct same thing here, maybe some of you should read it before you go off calling the kettle black:

Well you step out to do a couple of radio spots and the shtein hits the fan, eh?

There's a lot of half-truths being propogated in this thread so I thought I would try and clear the air a little bit.

First off, I thought I went out of my way to congratulate ES on the merger and really didn't see why it deserved any more of my time and effort than it got... frankly, I'm too busy to deal with this kind of childish nonsense.

Secondly, how are we the staff at THN responsible for the feelings that come out from our members? I went through our thread and didn't find a single derogatory post by any of my staff members, though I don't deny that my members may have had less complimentary things to say about ES. But that's the way THEY FEEL, and they're entitled to their own opinions.

Like I said on my board, people are going to be loyal to the community they spend the most time in... surely this isn't rocket science to anybody. As I also said in the thread, if this makes the staff at ES happy then good for them and congratulations.

Thirdly, I also stated that I had never seen the staff here at ES bad-mouth us but that I had seen the members of the board do so... isn't this thread perfect evidence of that? Again, it doesn't offend me in the slightest and I understand people being loyal to the place they call home most.

Lastly, good luck.

Bastardize my quotes all you want, slag our site all you want, I really don't care. At the end of the day I don't have any problem looking in the mirror. All my staff and I do, and I'm sure the staff here do, is spend a giant portion of our spare time trying to help people bleed burgundy and gold. Those of you sitting on your soapboxes and judging all involved mean very little to those dedicated to helping Redskin fans get their fill of Redskin football.

Thanks for your time.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Man this is getting crazy.

This is how I look at it, much props to extremeskins. This is obviously a great thing for them.

There's plenty of room in this world for their site, this one, and others.

It's all up to personal preference.

It's really silly to get all worked up over it and sling insults.

We're all still on on the same team folks.

Why on the biggest day for ES do they come running over here to see our reaction? :hmm: It's fuuny I didn't go there..This is a great day for ES and the Redskins.com. The boards and chats with players are long overdue. This doesn't change what we do here, or how we go about doing it.

Props to Extremeskins. They are THE largest fan site there is and obviously they wanted to be the redskins message board. THN is far smaller, but we are the 2nd biggest. It's not like were some tiny little site here. That being said, I've been a member of just about every type of redskins communication device out there including being part of webskins when it was just a mailing list. I tried Warpath, HailRedskins, SkinsFanatic, numerous sports sites messagebaords(like ESPN etc..) and Extremeskins. None have given me the satisfaction like THN has. It's by far the most organized place(posts go where they should, and you don't have all those irritating pics on people's posts) I've been a part of and I like most of the members. I for one love the color scheme(it is the redskins afterall), the basic scheme(flash is a waste) and the originality of the site is second to none. THN will always be my home as long as Boss keeps it up.

I go other places for certain things. I go one place for cap info, I go to extremeskins for Crazy Zebs videos(when someone posts them anyway ;-) ), I go to one site for past redskin records and stats, and I go to yet another site for numerous redskin pics. The point is, were all on the same team. I like hanging out here, so I do. It doesn't mean I never use other sites or that Extremeskins is bad because they hooked up with the Danny. It may actually benefit me in some small way in the future(like Zeb making bigger and better vid's) or getting to see pictures or hear an interview we wouldn't have heard otherwise. Good for them.

Otherwise, it doesn't really affect me...

It's actually pretty funny how popular this site is seeing how hard it is to find. I can't even really remember how I found it. I think I saw it posted somewhere on a messageboard, possibly webskins. Since I found it, I've never looked back. I just did a google and yahoo search and THN didn't even appear on the first 10 pages of either. That's all I checked. That's just amazing how popular this site is considering that information. Way to go Boss. Your building a fan empire here ;-)

Now, if we start advertising....

Besides, the word "aquired" is troublesome. I'm not convinced that the Redskins have the people they need to get that site under control. It's going to be quite a task. Snipers galore.

I am so lucky I found this place... I found it searching for draft info for the 2005 NFL draft info halfway throught the season and someone here said draft and my google picked it up.

I signed up and didn't post for awhile, so that is why I have cruddy posts per day stats.

Who farted? This thread kind of stinks.

To all of our members that "freaked" out, you should be ashamed of yourself since these are fellow Skins fans.

That said, your passion for this site is obvious and appreciated by all. You know this is always your home or your dark alley when you need a quick Skins Fix. I pour my 40 to you all.

So, step one: drink a bur.
Step two: slowly remove your undies from the bunch they're in.
Step three: move on and get ready for Saturdays game. Lets see how the team bounces back from the scrimmage debacle.

To the ES peeps/visitors, welcome to the board at THN. Sorry if this was the first impression you may have had of the site. The staff and members here are top notch and infused with burgundy and gold.
Feel free to stop by anytime for view points and dope articles/content by the staff.

I extend my hairy palm to you and say Hail Skins.

I'm thinking something up but from the sounds of it you won't like it. I got this new idea tonight to look for a picture of John Hall tackling someone. Or maybe I'll sneak to camp tomorrow and get some pictures of John to use! ;-)
