But I'm not about to start apologizing for the way this community feels about it. There have been many a harsh word said about this site at ES... I don't take it personally. Neither should you. People are going to be loyal to the people they hang with most.

My 2 cents

I'd just like to say that having been an ES member for over a year now I haven't seen one bad thing written about this site. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but I visit the site regularly and have never seen it. I've seen several THN members post, and they are treated like any other skins fan; nothing negative said about their site.

Conversely, the very first thread I've read on this site has tons of negative things to say about ES. The thread is about ES, so maybe that's not exactly fair, but it seems a mite unprovoked to me. Redskins fans are the best in the world and should be united by our desire to see the B&G kickin' ass and takin' names.

Can't we all just get along?

Hail.

One of the first threads I read on ES was when we announced our mini-camp access and people were bad-mouthing us because of our puny membership totals.

My 2 cents

That being said, we all choose our board affiliations for whatever reason, so members who like THN are not likely to be ES people and vice versa. I don't think ES is a bad site, just too anonymous for me. I like the smaller numbers here and I find our site to be easier to navigate.

Well, I haven't seen it, and I'm truly sorry if it happens. I know I have never badmouthed another Skin site. But, I guess there are a few bad apples in every tree. You can't judge the entire site by a few people talking trash, and I hope nobody here is. ES is a great site, and from what I have briefly seen, THN and ES are very similar in organization.

So, ES members have talked smack about THN, THN members have talked smack about ES, THN and ES members have probably talked smack about the other boards out there. In the end, we're all Skins fans, and here's to the playoffs!

Hey i have been on extreme for up to a year now.

My first skins site was thehogs though.

I think both sites are fine i just dont understand why there has to be jealousy on thehogs part.

At extreme we love our site and how its run.

I bet if your site was offerd u would take the affilaiton as well.

As for the post count that is smpily not true. Everyone gets respones and is respected.

And as for the misconseption that we wont be able to bash our players or coaches is simply wrong.

Do you actually belive our owners would go somewhere where we cant honestly express our views, even with the affilation.

The way I see it, it doesn't really matter here. Nothing about this deal affects the mission of the THN staff. We are still here to provide coverage of the Redskins and a forum to discuss whatever you wish.

ES made a deal with the team. Good news for them. Congratulations. Doesn't change anything here.

Sorry to bring back bitter memories for some Extreme fans... but there was quite a bit of jealousy when Mark (BossHog) was granted time to chat on the Washington Post upon Gibbs' return.

http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/show ... adid=46743

By the way, congrats to Extreme. Hopefully they won't be censored and Bang still gets to express himself through his toons.

Rarely is it a good thing to be so quickly persuaded by just one person (especially since he wrote all that in direct response to this thread).

I honestly can't see why anyone here would have a problem with the merger. If anything it would be EXTREMESKINS members who would have a problem.

I don't get the hate? How does this effect you all in a negative way?

Two insults over there I don't like...

One, we wouldn't accept the affiliation? Who said we wouldn't?

Second, we have one tread for training camp coverage? Yeah, in this forum. Did they not check that we had an entire forum for training camp?

Congrats to ES. I still call THN my home, though.

It seems like ES has a good site (not quite as personable as THN), but all that yellow-on-black text hurts my eyes - it reminds me of one of our members...

WOW!

This is the Mayor of Fed Ex Field, formaly known as Smoot21.

Why all this hate?

I mean, Extremeskins (Which I have been banned from for 12 months, before you label me) just did every Redskin fan a favor.

They now can get closer than ever with the Washington Redskins. Staff members (who are Redskin fans, just like you and I) will be at all practices and games.

Why would you not want that? Nobody over there is hating on your website. I know you guys are some of the first to show up on game day, I see you with my own eyes. I met the guy that owns the site a few years back, he came from Canada.

We are all Redskin fans, and now thanks to Extremeskins, YOU the fan can get closer to your favorite team.

And it costs nothing. So there you go.

Tommorow you can get closer to the Washington Redskins than you could yesterday. It costs you nothing.

Don't insult the effort, time and hard work of someone who brought you this.

Thats not fair. Some of you gusy are acting like Eagle fans.

Those are the enemies, not anyone that would die for the burgandy and gold.

I read through their posts. Other than commenting on how they interpreted THN's reaction, I didn't see a whole lot of hostility from them.

That said, the only thing that irks me is that a few ES members were saying things such as, "Like THN wouln't sell out if they were offered this affiliation."

I don't think this has anything to do with anyone "selling out." I'm sure any fan site would gladly accept the offer if it were granted to them. The bottom line is that ES obviously has a ton of members, and the 'partnership' will likely bring more exposure to both ES and Redskins.com.

I did like one guy's post over there, though. Something along the lines of representin' our crew (via colors/headbands/etc.) when we get out to the games.

But that already takes place anyway.

In the end, all that really matters is watching the Skins play - it's all I've ever really cared about in the first place - and personally knowing some of you to tailgate and converse with is a nice, added benefit.

I'd have a hard time trying to meet 35,000 people anyway

You shouldn't try to meet 35,000, but if you ever get a chance you should meet Wacky Ralph. One of the greatest posters ever.
