how do you handle a Redskins loss?

After a loss, it takes me 'til about Thursday to recover (longer after a loss to the 'Pies). I never watch any sports shows that might rehash my misery. I don't want to talk to anybody about football during this time. After a victory, everything is exactly the opposite. I watch all the sports shows (repeatedly). I'm in a good mood all week, and I love rehashing the game with anyone who will listen.

A Redskins loss brings a whole new definition to the phrase, "looks like sombody's got a case of the Mondays..."

ROTFALMAO

Well I am just in an all out pissed off mood. I like to be by myself if we suffer a loss. Especially if it's one that we didnt deserve. (in my mind all of them) so all in all, im not a nice person to talk to when that happens. I try no to, but I take it out on others...

im with hog lover on this one--its hard though, in a high school where half the kids are pukes/iggles/g-aint's fans and i have to sit there and defend my SKINS. but by thursday, i have a pretty great idea of what went wrong and how we can fix it, and just hope that joe comes up with something better than what i have. also, right after the game i listen to WTEM or WJFK and try to learn from that too, they offer really good insight into what exactly went wrong and how to fix it, although sometimes they just say ridiculous things. oh well

Like most other people, I generally avoided Sportscenter or any other media (including internet articles) until late Wednesday or Thursday, when talk switches from last Sunday to the upcoming one.

2 years ago I had a girlfriend that knew it was hopeless trying to get me to do anything from Sunday evening until about Wednesday night. If she came over on Monday, she knew that the routine was going to be watching Monday night football, in silence, as I sat there thinking about the Redskins. Come to think of it, the girl that I'm currently seeing hasn't witnessed how I function during the season. I think I'll save it, and let it be a surprise for her. If she can handle me during the week following a Cowboys loss then I'll know that I ought to keep her. :)

This past year at school I didn't have cable, so I couldn't watch any ESPN anyway. I was also separated from any local coverage. Usually I dealt with losses by spending ungodly amounts of time on theHogs.net.

I've pretty much got the same plan for this fall. Here's to a winning season(!)

If the 'Skins lose on Sunday, there's a lot of people at work that better watch out on Monday. I used to try to be calm and polite after a loss, but now I've been here long enough that I don't really care what other folks think about me, and if someone rubs me the wrong way, I'll let them know in no uncertain terms.

If it's a real crappy loss like the Green Bay game I generally throw my remote as hard as I can. I have had to glue it back together five times now. I tell you what, Sony makes some tough remotes.

I go to my room, lay in bed. My wife comes in and says that its stupid to get so upset about anything so nonmeaningful. But now she's getting it. She gets bummed when the skins loose. It may have something to do with my attitude after a loss vs. a win but all I care about is the fact she wants them to win.

For me, it depends on the opponent. If its like, the Bengals or Raiders...I'm okay. If it's the Eagles, Giants or Cowboys, I'm really not a morning person.

OK guys. Many of the symptoms are "similar" because we have a bunch of real fans here. But I am wondering: How will I handle a Redskins win this season?

I can not repeat the same routine this season as I did back in the early 90s. But I feel that I probably will come to this site to discuss the strategic and technical aspects of the win (after watching every bit of it again in TV news and sports programs).

I might watch some t.v. but I probably might skip Primetime depending on if Dallas lost it always makes me feel 1/1,000,000 better if they lose too!
Whether we're 0-0 or 0-15 I always think we're gonna win even if Brunell is in the game! (Lets hope it doesn't come to that.) -SKINS23beME

Growing up, our entire family was in a bad mood the whole week, until one day, my dad said, "This is ridiculous. It is a football game. We are NOT going to be in a bad mood the whole week if they lose."

Now, I work in (HACK) "Raven's Country" near Baltimore. The Ravens fans and I made a pact that whoever loses the game when we play each other has to sit in the chairs behind the main table vs the main table at the morning meeting on Monday. So tomorrow I have to eat crow. However, I bought tons of Skins stuff to decorate my office in an obnoxious way, so I can't wait until tomorrow (regardless) to face those stupid purple birds.
DE Renaldo Wynn re: Marcus Washington: “They were like, 'No.53, man, what’s his deal?’” Wynn says, smiling. “I told them, 'This dude is full speed.’ Even when they were kneeling on the ball, he was still coming. Marcus has only one speed.”

when the skins loose everyone knows not to mention anything to me about it. I dont really talk much for the following days. If they win I watch sportscenter all day just to see the comentators talk about what we did good since we won the game. That is the best part

it all depends on the score....if we lose by 7 or less, i punch a whole in my wall....if we lose by more than 7, i use my head as the battering ram for the whole in the wall....may be that's why I can't see straight and have headaches from september through january....

As i have said in an earlier post, I would get so upset an angry that my dad would have to ground me or send me to my room. Now that i'm an adult, which is questionable at times. I no long am under my pop's roof and therefore am not grounded. However, there have been times that I have actually thrown things at the television, ripped my shirt off, spit on the television and last but definitely not least started a small fire with my Redskin apparral. I really can't take all the credit for some of my actions for my wife is a (cowboy fan). I should have known better. Some of you may think these actions are a bit drastic. But at the time it was my only way of coping with such a feeling. If any of you try some of these things i recommend the fire. The spitting you have to clean up. The fire, well you get to go buy this years jersey.
