Dallas' Spears injured

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Dallas' Spears injured

Post by curveball »

Marcus Spears DE, #20 overall, was carted off the field today. A person who was there with other reporters said his knee "jiggled" like a torn ACL.

Ouch. Big loss for Dallas. I guess given his injury history, Chris Canty is next.

Man I really hate seeing players get hurt but as a Redskin fan you just naturally kinda get happy that theres less competition from a rival like Dallas. Regardless I hope he gets better though

Parcells has lost his second pick early every year he's been in Dallas. Al Johnson rebounded nicely his sophomore year, Jacob Rogers is looking like he may win the RT spot so I'm not too concerned even if Spears is lost for the year.

Canty has limited-practice status until Aug 8th, but that's because of the detached retina, his knee appears fine and some have said that he's the most impressive rookie so far.

I hope this wasn't already posted, but I heard that Marcus Spears was carted off the field with a knee injury.

As of right now, he wasn't even listed as the starter, so while if he is out for the year, it's not a "key" injury. DE is the deepest position on the Dallas roster. A Ferguson injury would probably be the worst thing possible for the defense.

I was happy to hear that Todd Pinkston is out for the season and I hope that Marcus Spears is done for the year as well.

Forget being nice. I want every Cowboy, Eagle, or Giant player possible to get hurt during training camp. We deserve some breaks after last season.

Jake is one of the classiest people here, he was directly replying to myself, I understood what he wrote in context and he in no way implied ill intent.

Thanks Curveball.

foreverD, if you followed your teams draft picks a little closer, you would have understood that Canty has a history of injuries while playing at the University of Virginia. That's the defensive lineman I was expecting to go down first.

I dont call one injury in 2002 that allowed him to miss 2 games.

And then another injury in 2004 that he is fully healed from.

I dont call those a history of injuries.

Oh Jake and I do follow UVA football, since I work in Reston and live in D.C.

He was a beast while he was there and is showing the same in Camp.

So good of you Curveball to endear yourself to so many, all though he may not have implied any ill intent. It was still classless to say.

Guess you didn't see the post after mine. More classless and more funnier than mine.

I guess you don't like THN too much by now. Go ahead and introduce yourself to the fine folks at Concrete Field.

They'll love to have another Cowboys fan on the board.

I don't want to win that way. I want to beat 'em at full strength. Anything else is equated to the strike season, to me.
