Everybody says Campbell is our QB of the future, but, Ramsey and he are not that far apart in age, and if Ramsey keeps playing well, at what point do you part with either of them? Furthermore, if Ramsey's next 2 seasons are good, how do you part with him after the '06 season and start fresh with Campbell? In essence starting over, I still can't understand this wasted draft pick, other needs were more pressing, especially if Gibbs is leaving in a few years anyway...puzzling  :?:

I'll answer your post Skinz. If only players that "wanted to be here" played our team or hell every team in the league would be quite thin. It isn't about what they want.

I think that Patrick, as of now, looks the like the best of the three. I'm not saying he looks good but he does look like he's attempted to learn and to get some sort of consistancy down with all of these new receivers. Mind you my judgement is soley based on what I saw today because I have not attended camp yet to see him in that environment.

The topic of the thread the next QB for the Skins....
You have to ask a question if you want a answer- you however only made your normal assanine statement showing your hatred for Ramsey and then come back with this BS.

Some of us have been waiting for you to form a legitimate question for days, but then we realized that the internet would be obsolete before that happens.

At what point in his career has Ramsey said he didn't want to be here

Whether or not Ramsey has a good season or not, there was no wasted draft pick. Even when the Skins had stellar QBs, Gibbs loves depth. You never know when your starter could go down and having a second or third like Campbell gives the team a fighting chance.

That being said (and I'm not in any way a P-Ram basher) Ramsey doesn't look to be growing. There were some definate signs at the end of last season, but he looked pretty stiff at the scrimmage. I know it's only a glorified practice, but it didn't give me any good vibes.

As much as I really do not like this sites "Mr. Mancrush-Boy-Ramsey," he should get at least the first 4 games to see what he can do. Now, if he goes out and lays one of his 3 interception "eggs" against the Bears and then does the same with the Dallas Uglies, then all bets are off.

It is getting really funny in here, people making/adjusting their NEWER Ramsey excuses: 1. Supposed bad line play, 2. It was just a "scrimmage."

Fine, it was just a scrimmage, but the clock on Ramsey is ticking and hopefully he won't singlehandedly ruin the season especially if our defense turns out to be stellar as last year. My 2 cents

LOL Obviously you were not at the scrimmage. I didn't see anything resembling stellar on that field yesterday, at least not in burgundy and gold. It was just a scrimmage and I'm not at all worried but the defense is NOT the defense of last year.

Not sure if that was directed at me, but I was referring to even when we had good QB's, we still had decent backups. Ramsey is nowhere even near being where he could/should be. That being said, I'll still take Ramsey over Brunell on any given day.

In defense of our defense  , we're missing quite a few people due to injury. We stopped the run easily, we had issues with the pass. Shawn Springs, Lavar, Daniels, Griffin, Lavar, Taylor, and Bowen either did not play or did not play with the 1s defense.

I think that says a lot.

As far as Ramsey is concerned, scrimmage or no scrimmage, he shouldn't have thrown that INT.

I'm sorry AZ hog that was not at all directed at you. It was directed at Skinz domin8, regarding his comment about Ramsey ruining the season for our stellar defense.

The INT was bad Chris but wouldn't rather get it out of his system now then when the games actually matter??

People, people, calm down. This was not even a PRESEASON game. It was a scrimmage for God's sake. You want to give a chance to as many people as possible, try as many things as you can, and just make a general inspection of who is doing what and how.

This nonsense to judge our team and individual players (and even predict the performance next season) based on a -SCRIMMAGE- is downright silly. I will not get ven on the Ramsey issue. It is a waste of time.

I will only say one thing. This team is better than last year's was. I will leave it at that.

1fan4ramsey,
I am not a P-Ram basher either, but you will see why it was NOT in any way a wasted draft pick. To me, it is what was missing. Patrick could use the competition and I'm hoping that he'll excel because of it. Two shaky QBs does not a team make.

Campbell is the only QB who scored a touchdown Saturday. If he runs, he runs forward, not backward. He rushed for 8 touchdowns himself while at Auburn.

Campbell best articulated the reason I find him to be the best talent in the 2005 Skins yearbook: "My best skill is, when the pocket shuts down, to get outside and still make throws downfield and to get those positive yards with your legs," Campbell said.
DE Renaldo Wynn re: Marcus Washington: “They were like, 'No.53, man, what’s his deal?’” Wynn says, smiling. “I told them, 'This dude is full speed.’ Even when they were kneeling on the ball, he was still coming. Marcus has only one speed.”

In a nutshell! - let's just be a little patient and let things develop here before we all become as "lost" as some of our pessimistic "buddies".
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Campbell best articulated the reason I find him to be the best talent in the 2005 Skins yearbook:

U can argue the best talent in the Qb's, but on the team. But on the Redskins, there is a guy named Sean Taylor and 3 time pro bowler Lavar Arrington, Shawn Springs, Portis, Jason Campell couldn't carry these guys jock straps.

I am so confused??????????????? Your post is majorly contridicting itself. Where did that second part come from? I really haven't seen the year book but I tend to doubt they'd put a quote like that in there.

And are you saying he is the best talent because he cannot "carry their jock straps"???? Maybe it's late and I'm tired but nothing in your post makes sense to me.

If you two are confused about my post, let me clarify: I fully believe the best talent for QB (not of the TEAM), is Jason Campbell. I watched all the Auburn games and could not articulate what it was that enamored me about his prowess as well as his self-proclaimed statement in the 2005 yearbook......I believe it is on page 54 or 55.

I'm sure the stellar Auburn squad behind him helped him shine, but he's the best young QB I've seen in the making.

This is great and I am excited to have his talent here.

I'm sure you will agree that we hope Patrick can be very good this year and that the Mark Brunell we all saw last year is going to become a fantastic back-up to Patrick (and hopefully is not needed).

Jason is here because Gibbs thinks he will be the starting QB but most of us agree that this will not happen this year and we hope he could be good enough to be the back-up next year. For Gibbs to start Jason would mean a lot of bad things to anyone who knows the NFL and especially Joe Gibbs.

Now we have had just over a week of camp and hopefully this week we start to see some progress from Patrick and Mark and some more "growth" from our future star QB! The important thing now is to get the most we can from Patrick and Mark - Jason can work on which hand to hold a clipboard and keep the sun out of his eyes! We may need him sooner but that will be a sad day if it is this year!

So far all weve seen is ramsey just taking a leadership role. Since im oversees on vacation, im not able to attend camp. But from what i heard about the scrimage, i just hope that Ramsey will have a Drew Brees like season, and takes us to the playoffs with a 10-6 record. That would be great, for he will stay for a little longer, and that means we dont have to rush Campbell into anything.
