Pinkston injured

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

If my offense was based on the short passing game, I would hate to rely on an old guy that Farve made better than what he really was.

They are dropping like flies up in Bethlehem, PA.! Buckhalter hurt his knee also.

Aug. 5, 2005
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Todd Pinkston ruptured an Achilles' tendon in practice Friday and is out for the season.

Pinkston injured his ankle when he was tripped up on a route down the sideline. He remained down for several minutes before limping to the medical tent. A few hours after the injury, the team said he was out for the season.

The injury is a blow to the Eagles, who aren't deep at wide receiver. Receiver Terrell Owens, day-to-day with left groin inflammation, did not practice Friday morning.

Behind Pinkston and Owens, the team has third-year pro Greg Lewis and Billy McMullen, a third-round pick in 2003. Rookie Reggie Brown had been competing with McMullen to be the fourth receiver
Running back Correll Buckhalter also went down with a leg injury in the morning's practice. The team said he had a bone bruise.

After practice, Buckhalter limped out of the team's workout facility and, before gettig into his car, said his knee was sore.

Buckhalter missed all of last season after tearing a tendon in his right knee during the preseason. He missed all of the 2002 season after tearing a ligament in his left knee in minicamp.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

Buckhalter was never going to last. He was just one of those players that could never be 100% for long. This is no surprise to many.

But Pinkston is a big loss. He takes a lot of heat in philthy, but he was an extremely effective #2. This will move Greg Lewis up to #2, which isn't too bad for them. But now they get to see how truly ineffective Billy McMullen is as a slot receiver. (The rookie Brown will never catch on to the offense fast enough to be a factor. All of Reid's rookie receivers have a hard time with the learning curve.)

You couldn't be less informed if you lived under a rock. Buckhalter has a knee bruise and Reggie Brown is already slated as the slot receiver. Wilbur is a bust and had no chance of making the roster before the toothpick snapped.

You're right. Rookie receivers do great in Reid's offense

I know you hated Pinkston, GF. But he was fast and stretched the field. He opened things up.

Would you describe Buckhalter as durable?

I'd prefer is Buck was out for the year now so we could know who's going to actually play, but as of right now he's healthy.

I'd like to offer my sorrow to the Eagles. The Skin fan in me never minds seeing the opponent get weaker. The football player in me hates to see any guy get injured. I dont look forward to players on other teams getting injured to improve our chances of winning, we should be able to beat you at 100%. When I saw the picture below it really sobered me up about how I was feeling upon hearing the news.

It really took me back to when Jon got hurt last year at this very time and it sucked.

The Skin fan in me says: The little girl deserves to be on the sidelines after this fiasco! Alligator body all the way!
