Ray Lewis had neither a gun or a knife. Ray Lewis did something stupid by trying to be loyal to his thug friends. He was caught in fast developing a situation and did the wrong thing
Taylor was wrong for what he did and the courts will decide on his fate.
Although I am new, Skins rash you seem alittle high strung and dare I say immature. I would take Smithian's advice if I was you.
foreverD,
Given that the courts have yet to hear his case, and that the facts that have come out have been somewhat conflicting, how can you say you even know what he "did"? If he broke the law, he should be punished; however, we don't really know what happened. We do know that he needs to avoid those kinds of situations in the future, though.

Well I DID not say he pulled a gun or hit someone.
THAT BEING SAID WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG, He DID try to handle the situation his way. Instead of going straight to the proper authorities. I only fault the young man for not going to the police.

If I may speak very (very(!)) generally for most board members:
We have been trashing Sean Taylor for his actions. No offense, but you can't come into the board in a single day, posting all kinds of new threads, thinking that you aren't bringing up stuff that hasn't been hashed over yet.
This board draws together all kinds of breaking news. . .a lot of times we'll have pages of discussion on a topic before any ESPN analyst gets a crack at it through published media.
We also get tired of topics after discussing them ad naseum. You're a newbie so we'll let you get your feet wet. One of the most common mistakes made by new board members is to start a thread on a popular topic just because it isn't in the first 10+ threads in Hogwash. Stick around long enough and you'll realize that we were through trashing Taylor for his actions weeks ago, we don't need to keep doing it to prove that we're against his actions. What matters now is what he does for our team on the practice and, hopefully, game-day field.
New details in the trial will be discussed as they come up, but until then do a search for "Sean Taylor" "police" "gun" and you'll see just how extensively we've already covered this.

FANFROMANNAPOLIS I think he was referring to me the new Puke fan on the board.
and to answer him
I believe if or what Taylor did was stupid. I would never want to see a talented young man throw such a promising career away for something materialistic.

All Im saying is he is bad for the team!
Well feel free to go ahead and say that. Don't think that anyone here is going to try and censor you. I was responding to this statement:
By the way if it had been Dawkins, Shawn Williams, or Roy Williams. You guys would be trashing them as we speak!
which seemed to be designed to get reactions from posters on this message board.
Feel free to express your opinions about Taylor being a thug. What I was saying was: don't be surprised if no one pays attention. . .and don't mistake that for us condoning Taylor's actions.
Welcome to the board, by the by.

Gilbert Arenas had gun charges too. People make mistakes. I will not "dismiss" it as some other Redskins fans have, but Taylor has his right to due process.
BTW Charleston Heston is an idiot, just watch Bowling for Columbine, he showed up promoting the NRA in Columbine, the day after the Columbine shootings.

"Turn it down a little" If I Love my team I should shut up?
They do have to reply. Just as you can post your opinion, they can post theirs and the rules do not say they have to agree with you. Keep all personal attacks on individuals in the smack forum.

Smithian wrote:...Well. Nice first three posts. Tone it down a bit.
Second, do not compare any Redskins of any time, except maybe Sanders or Shuler, to Ray Lewis.
Who are you to tell someone to "tone it down"?
He has a right to his opinion...you don't like it TOUGH.
***Poster of the Year*** Hail to the Redskins. Everything else is inferior. Guess who's not a HOMER on this site.
