Training Camp Day 1

Post by BossHog »

JansenFan's summary of the first practice was posted on the front page late last night for any of you that might not have already checked it out.

We're just settling in, so we'll bring you more action and pics as we go, and more and more of it. We had a few technical glitches on the photos yesterday but we should have it sorted out today.

Great write-up JF. Execellent summary of the afternoon's events.

Unfortunately, I wrote it at 200 AM, and I missed a few typos when I proofed it.

Good read anyway, also can you describe the cutback by A.Brown more in depth.

I'll try to do it justice, but here it goes....

Brown, keeping in mind he is the fastest guy in the NFL, is running full speed to the right. A linebacker is closing in (Clifton Smith I think, but I wasn't positive enough to put it in the story). He gets within 5 feet of Brown and lunges....Brown completely reverses field in the time it take Smith to dive 5 feet and Smith lands in a pile on the ground with out laying so much as a finger on Brown.

It was incredible. The only other guy on the team that can change directions like that is Clinton Portis.

Is A. Brown documented as the fastest in the NFL?
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.

They cat with the last name Rossum won the NFL's fastest man competition this past offseason. Darrell Green was close on his heels.

He has an interview on http://www.redskins.com

You'll need realplayer to view it.

Moss had a quiet day on Day 1. He didn't make any ciscus catches or spectacular plays, but he seems to be gelling with Ramsey OK.

Rossum won the NFL's fastest man competition, but obviously not all of the fastest players were in that competition.

Antonio Brown told me that he has only ever lost one foot race in his life, and that was to Santana Moss in the Big East track championships. He also told me that his fast 40 time is faster than any other NFL player's documented 40 time that he has seen.

yea, I saw that "fastest" man competition and realize that all players that could compete weren't in attendance

let's just hope speed kills...and that we can find a balance of power to punish :)
