Brown Is a Redskin to Watch In 2005

Post by HailtoTheRedskins »

From Redskins.com

Antonio Brown wasn't signed to the Redskins' active roster until Nov. 13, 2004, and he didn't see the field until Week 15 at San Francisco's Monster Park. By the end of the season, Brown had shown his fair share of quickness as a return specialist.

Throughout training camp 2005, which opened on Monday, Brown hopes to make his mark as both a return man and as a reserve wide receiver. Given his game-breaking speed, he's clearly a player to watch. During the June mini-camp, head coach Joe Gibbs singled him out as a player who had stood out in the offseason-and not just as a return specialist. He has opened eyes at wide receiver.

"He has looked extremely good at receiver," Gibbs said in mid-June. "I've been super-impressed with him. He's probably caught as many deep balls as anybody out there. He has to be one of the fastest players in the NFL."

Could this be another deep threat WR that could help open things up so that Clinton doesnt have to face 9 in the box?
And on the 7th day (Sunday) God made football, and he saw that it was good.

Welcome to the board, HailtoTheRedskins.

Brown has been electric in camp so far. Very impressive. I think he has already clinched his spot on the roster.

He is the only player I have seen put on Portis-like moves on anyone. Boy did he make Shawn Springs look silly today.

I read about that today in our own Scott Coward's article! Man, he has me real excited. I mean, Morton was solid at SP, but Antonio Brown sounds like a Gamebreaker! Hopefully he can contribute on offense as well.

Brown was putting on the moves during the special teams drills also. They kid didn't fumble/drop any passes since thats what every kept knocking him for. I dont hear the naysayers chiming in... The kid shook Springs out of his cleats, all he could do was accept it and go back to the huddle.

Ever since Brown came in through with that 60+ yard punt return with the Vikings I knew he was destined to be the next Dante Hall. They had similar body types, similar speed, and similar juking ability. If this kids hands are as good as Joe says they are I think maybe he'll have a future as a starting wideout. This dudes impressive

He juked Springs and someone else on the same play while he was on offense. He received A LOT of looks as a receiver.

Does anyone have his 40 time? Sounds like like he may be D. Green fast.

I'm not sure of his exact 40 but he's fast...somewhere in the 4.3-4.4 range.

Glad he has done so well recently in practice. Watched him during his collegiate days too...love it when a Mountaineer plays for our beloved Skins!
She turned me into a newt! ...I got better.
