Cutting Chris can't be an option. I wouldn't trade him anyway after Bugel came in and said that he and Jansen should be perennial pro-bowlers. Bugel isn't known for blowin' smoke, now is he ?
Rest assured, Jake. Your big buddy will get every opportunity to show he can do what he's paid to do.

his cap number is about $8.3 mil this year... so if you cut him after june 1st to sabve this year's portion of the SB (2.66), the Skins would save almost 6 milion dollars.

But they would create over $5 million in dead cap next year, and that'll kill you quicker than anything.

Really... they can't even afford to rework too much of it because we're just pushing more of it into guaranteed money. if Chris was to rework his contract and take a pay cut then maybe it would be worth it, but otherwise, the Skins have to wait at least another season before they think about cutting Samuels or the dead cap # alone is devastating.

Why do you think Samuels' agent is digging in his heels?

Personally... I'm willing to bet that Joe bugel not only returns Chris to old form, but turns him into the extraordinaire tackle that we expect.

That pretty much sums up the situation. Samuels is a Pro Bowl player that is FINALLY going to get Pro Bowl Caliber Coaching. Every player on the team is going to play at a much higher level.
