Carlos Rogers Contract
He should sign quickly, WR Mike Williams (picked #10 right after Rogers) just signed with Detroit.
Terms of the contract are for five years at $13.5 million, $10.5 million of which is guaranteed.
This gives an idea of what Rogers may get. There is no rule saying he has to wait for the guys before him to sign...lets hope the "trickle up" rule applies.
Feel free to give your guess.
I'm thinking he'll get a 5 year, $15 million, with $12 million guaranteed.

5 years 14 million 11 garunteed.
15 is a little high. I don't think one spot is worth 1.5 million, at least I hope not. That 1 million might be important to us somwhere down the line.

I don't think he will get such a glamourous contract I think they will have a ball park figure of what he is going to get, but with Williams being a highly touted WR with all the coverage before the drafts from the "experts" such as Mel Kiper Jr he was always going to get a slighty bigger contract IMHO that some other higher choices. I would like to see a deal of around the same figure for Rogers.
Playoffs baby!!!!, Joe Gibbs has brought respect back to the Redskins.

William's Pre draft hype has nothing to do with Rogers' contract. His agent will be promptly fired if he gets less money for his higher drafted client. Cornerback is also one of the highest paid positions on the field.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

Thanks Om...and andyman.
Hopefully is correct, because it would be nice to have minimal distractions for a change.

For those of you who don't know, anything you hear from Andyman is legit. Don't ask for a link, don't ask why just sit back and say thank you.
Anything he says you can take to the bank!!!
We'll be seeing Carlos Rogers later today.

Nobody really knows who he is. He posts something over there. People (use to) start asking where he gets his info from. Then before you know it espn or the post has it.
He never answers the question of who he is. But I would go out on a limb and say he works closely with the skins. He was reporting stuff that happened in the morning practice yesterday.

Washington Redskins: Cornerback Carlos Rogers, the ninth overall pick in the 2005 draft, has agreed to a five-year contract.
The deal is worth a maximum of $17.45 million over the life of the contract with $11.23 million in bonuses. He was the first of the Redskins' two picks in the first round.
Rogers is suffering from a first-degree ankle sprain and a bone bruise in his right foot that will limit him in camp.
He was four-year starter at Auburn. As a senior in 2004, he started all 13 games and finished with 47 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes broken up.

New From The Post
Redskins Sign Cornerback Rogers
First Round Draft Pick to Appear with Campbell at Training Camp Today
By Nunyo Demasio
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, August 2, 2005; 11:24 AM
Several hours after agreeing to terms with quarterback Jason Campbell, the Redskins this morning signed his former Auburn teammate, cornerback Carlos Rogers, according to sources familiar with the situation. With the signings, the Redskins first-round picks will show up at Redskins Park today for practice, although Rogers remains injured and unable to participate.
Late last night, Campbell -- the 25th overall pick -- agreed to terms on a five-year contract potentially worth more than $20 million, according to a league source. Rogers, the fifth overall pick, signed a five-year deal with guarantees in excess of $11 million, according to sources familiar with his contract. Rogers isn't expected to be able to practice for several days because of foot and ankle ailments.
Campbell's deal is expected to become official today.
Campbell and Rogers missed the first two sessions of training camp yesterday. Campbell, who the Redskins acquired by relinquishing three picks, isn't expected to play much during his rookie season. But Rogers is expected to eventually replace Fred Smoot -- who departed for the Minnesota Vikings -- as the starter opposite Shawn Springs. (Walt Harris, a nickleback last season, will likely be the starting cornerback for the season opener.)
Rogers and Campbell were part of an Auburn team that hadn't lost since Nov. 15, 2003, when Georgia won, 26-7. Campbell was voted the Southeastern Conference offensive player of the yeas as the Tigers went 13-0 and beat Virginia Tech, 16-13, in the Sugar Bowl. Rogers won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back. Only 18 of 65 passes thrown in Rogers's direction were completed.
Campbell has generated as much attention as Rogers because of Washington's quarterback situation. Campbell is an intriguing selection since the Redskins already had quarterbacks Patrick Ramsey and Mark Brunell. Campbell -- who has shown promise with his size, arm and athleticism -- learned four different offenses in four years in Auburn.
Rogers missed the final two days of minicamp, June 18 to June 19, after suffering from a first-degree sprain of his right ankle. Rogers originally sprained his ankle during the off-season working out at Auburn, and he aggravated it at minicamp.
The Redskins said that an old stress fracture was discovered during treatment of his ankle. But the team said that its main concern is the bone bruise. The Redskins added that the stress fracture has not caused Roger previous problems.
Like I said before if Andyman says it, you can take it to the bank.

I went in here thinking he was signed on to find a thread based on speculation of how much he'll sign for. It wasn't until the middle that someone scooped some good news.
The topics were merged, for some reason the early posts on his pending signing went to the top instead of the bottom.

Merged thread seem to always be reordered in chronological order (I think). In this case, it takes scrolling down a bit to find a post that matches / confirms the thread title, since the speculation came before news of the signing.
