More info since I was beaten to the punch!

The team reached a contract agreement in principle with quarterback Jason Campbell, the 25th player chosen overall in the 2005 draft and the latter of the team's two choices in the first round.
The five-year contract will be reviewed on Tuesday and, barring any complications, the former Auburn star will sign it then. Financial details were not yet available, but the deal likely includes a maximum value in the $25 million range. It is structured in a way that will protect the Redskins but also Campbell, in the event he becomes the starter.
For now, Campbell will go to camp behind starter Patrick Ramsey and No. 2 quarterback Mark Brunell and will almost certainly be groomed for the future. There is a chance that Campbell could play some as a rookie, since the Washington personnel staff regard him so highly.

Yea, I mentioned the same thing in another thread. However like someone else said, it'd still be great to have around the team even if he's just sitting around.

QB Campbell Agrees to Terms
By Gary Fitzgerald

August 1, 2005
Rookie quarterback Jason Campbell has agreed to terms with the Redskins, the team announced on Monday evening. Campbell was the Redskins' second of two first-round picks in last April's NFL Draft.
The contract will be official on Tuesday morning. Campbell is expected to be at Redskins Park and on the field for the team's second day of training camp practices.
With Campbell on board, the Redskins have only one other rookie to sign: the team's other first-round pick, cornerback Carlos Rogers.
Campbell's signing was anticipated to happen quickly on Monday because rookie quarterback Aaron Rodgers signed his deal with Green Bay earlier in the day. Rodgers was selected by the Packers one spot ahead of Campbell.
Campbell was selected by the Redskins with the 25th pick in the first round of the April 23 draft.
Campbell is a very athletic quarterback and is a quick learner, as shown by his ability to play under four different offensive coordinators during his four seasons with the Auburn Tigers.
Campbell, 6-4 and 223 pounds, is a very experienced quarterback playing in 46 games and starting 39 of them. He finished his career completing 64.6 percent of his passes for 7,299 yards, 45 touchdowns and only 24 interceptions. Campbell was also an effective runner from the quarterback positions, rushing for eight touchdowns during his time at Auburn.
In 2004, Campbell had his most productive season in leading the Tigers to the SEC Championship and a win in the Sugar Bowl. He finished the season with 2,700 yards passing, 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year by the league's coaches and Associated Press, and was a first team All-SEC selection.

Nice! Can't wait to see him in camp!
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

Excellent! We have officially signed the 2nd most expensive back up QB on the roster! Even though our most expensive back up QB only cost a 3rd round pick and Campbell cost us a 4th and a 1st it is still great news.
Afterall, our starting QB make less than both and did not require trading of draft picks!
Great day for the Skins!
